The choice of the type of drive depends on the system that you intend to re-equip. Most laptops (first of all old) are equipped with only one SATA connector and a hard disk compartment. In this case, the disc can be replaced with only 2.5-inch SATA SSD (see). The same applies to most PCs up to Generation Intel Broadwell, even if some expensive motherboards are provided with a slot M.2 (in it, along with PCIE lines, SATA can also be used with characteristic limitations for it). If there is no modern slot M.2 on the board, you can connect the module module M.2 to the PCIE slot through the adapter.

HDD hard drives are magnetic information carriers. For their reading, a special, movable head is used, which moves along round magnetic plates used to store data, and thus searches for files.

The moving parts must arrive at the location of the file and cannot at the same time at the same time (which slows down reading or record multiple files).
