Also, it is not necessary to wait from the mobile device of decoding everything, since the leadership in flexibility belongs to PC, and no one is going to challenge it.

With the video playback, Samsung Galaxy S5 is not so smooth, as I would like. It is amazing, but it is one of the rare smartphones in which the popular MX recorder refuses to start with a hardware + decoder, and most often only this option and saves the position when the regular player cannot play the audio track of the file. The sound on MHL is displayed (in this case, the sounds were heard through the headphones connected to the monitor, since there are no loudspeakers in the monitor) and it has good quality. At the same time, at least multimedia sounds through the loudspeaker of the smartphone itself are not displayed, and the volume is adjusted by the buttons on the smartphone housing. In principle, in the smartphone settings, you can choose the sound output mode - stereo or volumetric. However, in our case, the monitor took only stereo sound, so there was no choice. To test the image output of the video files to the screen itself, we used a set of test files with moving on one division per frame with an arrow and a rectangle (see "Testing methods for playing devices and displaying a video signal. Version 1 (for mobile devices)"). Screenshots with shutter speed in 1 C helped to determine the nature of the output of video files with various parameters: resolution ranged (1280 per 720 (720p), 1920 at 1080 (1080p) and 3840 at 2160 (4K) pixels) and frame rate (24, 25, 30, 50 and 60 frames / s). According to the frame output criterion, the quality of video files playback on the smartphone itself is high, since frames (or frames of frames) can be outlined with more or less uniform intervals, and there are no frames of frames. However, uniform alternation of frames is a relatively unstable state, since some external and internal background processes lead to a periodic failure of the correct interval between frames. When playing video files with a resolution of 1920 to 1080 (1080p) on the smartphone screen, the image of the video file is displayed exactly along the border of the screen, one to one pixels, that is, in the initial resolution (with amendment for some Pentile features). The brightness range displayed on the screen actually corresponds to the standard range 16-235 - in the shadows of the entire pair of shades merged with black color, but all gradations are displayed in the lights. However, dark scenes may not look very good, since the darkest shades are too different in brightness and color tone, which can lead to excessive visibility of compression artifacts.

With the MHL connected monitor when playing a video full-time player, the video file image is displayed only in the landscape orientation, while only the picture of the video file is displayed on the monitor, and only information elements and virtual controls are displayed on the smartphone screen.

The results of the output tests on the monitor are shown in the table above in the MHL block. The quality of the output is very good. When playing a video files with Full HD (1920 per 1080 pixels) on the monitor screen, the image of the video file is displayed exactly along the screen border with the preservation of true proportions, and the resolution corresponds to the permission of Full HD.
