What should I do if I lost the USB receiver from the wireless mouse? Lost bluetooth from mouse, what to do What to do if lost bluetooth from mouse

Wireless USB mouse adapters are compact and small antennas, but this convenience has a downside. If any of you have lost the usb adapter from your wireless mouse, what to do first is do not panic. In many cases, you can replace the adapter with another one. I did this procedure myself and helped several friends. The problem is really common, but it can be solved in several ways.

Method 1: write to technical support

If you have lost a receiver from a wireless mouse of a well-known manufacturer, then the first thing to do is write to the official technical support service. Chances are good that you will be asked to photograph the device and a new adapter will be sent to replace the one you lost. There is a lot of information on the forums about users who have used this method. For example, Logitech ships a USB adapter free of charge in most cases.

The only caveat: find out the cities where they deliver. Companies' policies change from time to time. If it is only Moscow or St. Petersburg, then you will need a relative or acquaintance from these cities to get the device and then send the USB adapter to your address.

Method 2: the Logitech Unifying receiver

This method is only suitable for Logitech products. If your device has the “Unifying” logo - a red sun icon - then you can use any receiver with this image - not necessarily the original one that you lost. Moreover, you can connect up to 6 Logitech devices to one receiver: keyboards, mice, clickers, etc. What to do for this? It is necessary that all of them support this technology, as well as download the Unifying application from the official website. It will help you configure your wireless mouse to a different adapter.

You can buy an adapter with Unifying technology on the Internet: both used and new. The price is about 500-700 rubles.

Method 3: setting to a different adapter

This method is the most difficult and does not always work. When searching on the forums for the question "how to connect a wireless mouse to another adapter, if you manage to lose your own", most often you can hear the answer "no, it's impossible." However, I managed to solve this problem in one case. In one more, unfortunately, all methods really did not work. But if I lost my wireless mouse USB adapter again, I would check them as well.

Remember that, in most cases, you will not be able to use a USB adapter from a similar mouse instead of the one you lost. The device is recognized by ID, so the wireless receiver simply won't see your device. However, there is one way to check if you have a similar USB receiver handy. Here's what to do:

  1. Turn off and turn on the mouse. The batteries must also be charged.
  2. Place the device close to the USB port.
  3. Plug the receiver into the USB port.
  4. Not later than 15 seconds after that, simultaneously hold down the middle button (wheel) and the right mouse button.
  5. After a few seconds, the mouse and receiver are paired and the device can be used.

This method works, I repeat, for the same manufacturer (or the same model) and not always. But if you can test it, and it will solve your question, then this is perhaps the easiest option to continue using the device when you have lost the original receiver.

Step 1: check the compatible USB adapters on the manufacturer's website

If the adapters are interchangeable, this should be indicated in the documentation or simply on the page with the characteristics of your device on the website. Sometimes the same receiver is suitable for devices released at intervals of 7 years. And you can buy an old receiver for a penny, for example, on Avito.

Step 2: check the drivers and utilities on the manufacturer's website

There is a possibility that the problem of the USB receiver, which can be lost, has already been solved by the manufacturer earlier. If the site has software that will help you easily flashing another similar receiver, your problem will be solved. For example, for A4 mice, this is the Office Shuttle Software G9_G11. What is left to do is just buy a receiver on the Internet: on Avito, Ali Express, etc.

Step 3: contact the service center

You need to find out if the experts can pick up a new receiver for you or link your wireless mouse to another receiver instead of the one you lost. Often the experience of the service center will solve the problem much faster than you would. It may happen that the required receivers are idle in the warehouse. It is also possible that specialists know how to flash USB receivers.

There is another way: reprogram the receiver yourself. In this case, you need special knowledge and software. The USB receiver should be flashed to a different device ID or the frequency of the received signal should be changed. This method is rather complicated and not suitable for all devices. More suitable for people with technical knowledge, experience and free time.

If you have lost the adapter from the wireless mouse, then I advise you to immediately contact the technical support of the company, and then check all the methods and steps in turn. In many cases, the problem is solvable and you don't have to buy a new mouse. However, in another case, unfortunately, you will have to purchase a new device.

Do not rush to get upset if you have lost or broken the only Bluetooth adapter from your computer mouse. What to do? The problem can most often be solved without spending a lot of money.

Important! Don't rush to the store to buy a new mouse! The adapter from mice of the same model is programmed differently, so it will not work. The money will be wasted.

First of all, do the following:

  1. Flip the mouse over.
  2. See if there is a special icon on the bottom - an orange square with a six-pointed star inside. The desired figure is shown in the photo below.

This is the Logitech logo, denoting the mouse will work with the Logitech Unifying receiver. Several peripheral devices can be connected to it at the same time. This is very useful when your laptop or computer has few USB inputs. A compact usb receiver is inexpensive, within 1000 rubles.

If this symbol is not found, then try to contact the warranty service in your city. Separately, the receivers are not sold there, however, if some malfunction or defect is revealed in the device, they will issue a conclusion on issuing a new complete set. This method is only suitable if the receipt is preserved and the warranty period has not expired.

Will a wireless mouse work without USB?

Only if the adapter did not come with it initially. Find your user manual or search the internet for the type of transmitter your device uses - Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. Therefore, your PC must have a built-in signal receiving module.

Note! To pair your mouse with your computer, you need a second working mouse or an active touchpad.

For a Bluetooth mouse, first make sure your PC can receive this signal. For this:

  1. Go to "Device Manager".
  2. Find Bluetooth Radios in the list and Bluetooth Devices under Network Adapters.
  3. Turn on signal reception by pointing to the corresponding icon. It can be activated directly in the device manager by right-clicking and selecting the "Activate" line. Another way is to press and hold the Fn key on your keyboard.
  4. Click "Add device", find the name of the mouse in the list.

Few people know about an interesting opportunity that owners of Logitech wireless devices can take advantage of. The technology is called Unifying and allows you to connect up to six compatible wireless devices to one USB receiver. Consequently, you can free up USB ports, which is especially useful for laptops where there are already few USB ports. Also, this feature will help in a situation when one of the receivers "dies" and you urgently need to transfer the device to another receiver or when one of the receivers is lost. In this article, we'll show you which receivers provide Logitech Unifying technology, how to bind multiple devices to a single receiver, and how to get everything back as it was, and what to do if a Logitech receiver is lost or broken.

What devices are compatible with Logitech Unifying receivers?

If you already own a Logitech mouse or keyboard, you can determine compatibility with Unifying receivers in one second. Just look around your device - there should be an icon on the underside of the device, on a technical sticker, or directly on the case - it means your model is Unifying technology. In addition, such an icon must be on the receiver itself.

Many recent Logitech devices are compatible with Unifying receivers. A list of the most popular models that support the described device pairing function is at the end of the article.

Please note that you can only link devices that are compatible with Unifying receivers (i.e., have the icon). This means that you cannot bind any other device that does not support this technology to the Logitech Unifying receiver.

How do I connect multiple Logitech devices to one Unifying receiver?

First of all, we need two devices (or more) that are compatible with Logitech Unifying. In our example, we are using a Logitech M215 mouse and a Logitech K360 keyboard.
And, most importantly, you need to download and install the program from Logitech, in which we will pair our devices.

Step 1. We connect one of the receivers to the computer and launch the Logitech Unifying program. Connectivity only one receiver for pairing multiple devices will be very useful if the second receiver is broken or lost.

Step 2. To start the process of combining (or "pairing") devices, press the "next" button. The program gives clear instructions with pictures, thereby greatly facilitating the task. If two receivers were connected, then first you need to disconnect one of the Unifying receivers from the computer, leaving only the one to which all other devices will connect. After that, the "next" button should become active, click on it.

Step 3. Turn off and turn on the device that you want to bind to the receiver.

After restarting the device, in our case - the keyboard, a window automatically appears with a notification that the keyboard is ready for use, with which we are congratulated:

Now we can connect the next device by clicking on the "connect an additional device" button or finish working with the program.

"I want to return everything as it was." We break the Logitech Unifying connection, assign one device to each receiver.

If you need to break the connection (for example, if you sell one of the devices or want to connect it separately to another computer), it also does not take much time and effort.

Step 1. We connect the "clean" receiver to the computer and launch the Logitech Unifying program.

Step 2. On the start page of the program, we press the "additional" button and see approximately the following picture:

This means that the first receiver is "bound" two devices - a mouse and a keyboard, and the second receiver is empty. On an empty receiver, we need to re-bind one of the two devices, so we get 1 receiver = 1 device.

Step 3. Select the device that you want to untie from the first receiver, and press the "break the link" button. If you have a choice between a mouse and a keyboard, then it is better to untie the keyboard, because after the connection is broken, the computer will not respond to your actions with the device, and the mouse will be useful to us in the next minute (unlike the keyboard).

Step 4. Select the empty receiver and press the button "Associate a new device". A window will appear in which we are offered to turn off and turn on the connected device. We restart this device (in our example, this is the keyboard), after which the device will bind to the second receiver and is completely ready to work.

I lost my Logitech keyboard or mouse receiver, what should I do? My Logitech receiver is broken, what should I do?

Unfortunately, sometimes Logitech receivers break. Even more often they are lost. If your device without a receiver supports Logitech Unifying technology (i.e. has a special icon), then you can buy such a Logitech Unifying USB receiver on AliExpress. However, given the relatively high cost of a separate receiver (500-800 rubles) and long delivery times from China (at least two to three weeks), you might be more comfortable ordering a new Logitech Unifying mouse or keyboard. For example, if you have a Logitech keyboard with a broken Unifying receiver, you can cheer yourself up and buy an inexpensive mouse that supports the same technology and connect the keyboard to the mouse receiver (see How do I connect multiple Logitech devices to one Unifying receiver?). It will not be much more expensive than a separate receiver, but much faster.
