Beeline service “Mobile ticket. Another way to pay using an NFC SIM card from well-known Sim operators with nfc support

A modern bank card is plastic, the content of which is data on a magnetic stripe, or a chip built into it. This information allows you to identify the owner of the cash account and is actually the key to the user's current account. In the case of NFC payments, the information is embedded in the RFID chip of the card, or, in this case, in the SIM card from the Mobile Wallet system. Thus, payment using a smartphone is almost the same as paying with a plastic card, except for the circumstance when the card is in the wallet, and the user's mobile phone is almost always in his hands.

No, of course, an antenna is not built into the SIM card, and there is no point in this, because the body of the smartphone and printed circuit boards would have screened this very antenna and nothing would have happened. However, it contains an application that ensures the security of transactions and, in fact, implements the very procedure for authorizing and debiting funds from the account. Recall that in the end you get the most ordinary "Troika", but emulated by a smartphone using its NFC module. This is similar to how NFC HCE (Host Card Emulation) works to emulate Visa Paywave and Mastercard Paypass contactless bank cards.

In general, you cannot do without replacing the SIM-card, but everything turned out to be not so simple. Having gone to the nearest operator's salon, many subscribers suddenly found out that there was no SIM card for them, but there was one, no one knows where, for example, on the other side of the city.

How can this be? It's just a SIM card! They are all the same!

It's actually not that simple.

It's about the device itself cellular network GSM standard(and in 3G and LTE for the sake of backward compatibility a similar authorization system is used). Without going deep into technical details, the data on the compliance of SIM cards and subscriber numbers are stored in a database called HLR - Home Location Registry. Contrary to popular belief, the SIM card itself does not contain the subscriber's number, it contains only IMSI (International Mobile Subscriber Identity) and encryption keys, and the number, which is scientifically called MSISDN (Mobile Subscriber Integrated Services Digital Number), is assigned during registration online.

So, large HLR operators may have several: this is done on the basis of the principle "do not put all your eggs in one basket", and they may even be physically located at different sites. Accordingly, data on different SIM cards are stored in different databases, and data on different subscribers are also stored in different databases. When connecting a new subscriber, there is no particular difference. But when a subscriber already exists and is served in the network, then the data about him is contained in a certain HLR, and if you need to change the SIM card, then the new SIM card must also be assigned to the same HLR. So it turns out that different subscribers can be given different SIM cards: in this case, to activate a new SIM card, it is enough to change the value of a couple of fields in the database. In theory, of course, it is possible to transfer data to another HLR, but this is more difficult: operators prefer to bring different types of SIM cards to their offices. Well, and then the situation develops according to the usual laws of logistics: somewhere they brought in more, somewhere less, somewhere they dismantled some, somewhere else, and this is a kind of "deficit".

Sources told the site that all operators now have only 24,000 required SIM cards. The "Big Three" operators refute these data, but none of them began to specify the number of available NFC-SIM-cards.

At MegaFon, by the way, you can check directly on the website which HLR your SIM card belongs to: http://moscow.megafon.ru/corporate/help/hlr/. Accordingly, then you can call the desired salon and check if there are any. However, regarding the situation with NFC payments, the press service of the Moscow MegaFon assures that SIM cards with NFC support for the entire numbering capacity of MegaFon were delivered to the showrooms more than a week ago. "There are no problems with the availability of such SIM cards and there never were", - suggest in the company not to believe their eyes. “When a client asks to change a SIM card, they should find an NFC SIM with the same HLR. We have SIM cards in our own offices for any of our HLR - we are ready to accept everyone :) ", - echoes the press service of "Beeline"

Have you had any problems with replacing your SIM card? Let us know in the comments.

You no longer need to carry your credit card with you when you have your smartphone at hand.

It is with this slogan that more and more people are switching to non-contact "one-touch" payments thanks to. But few people know that there are SIM cards with a contactless payment chip. A microcircuit is implanted into them, supplemented with a special code, which activates the balance when the device is brought to the terminal, which ensures cashless payments.

It is important to clarify that the SIM card is not equipped with an NFC antenna. What does it mean? After purchasing a SIM card, it is not able to function independently, but must be supplemented. It is he who ensures the transfer of information between the SIM and the terminal with subsequent payment.

Even if the device does not have an NFC antenna, you can buy it in addition, but they are supported a small amount mobile gadgets.

NFC capabilities on a SIM card

Despite wide range the possibilities of technology, in Russia such SIM cards are used as a convenient alternative to travel tickets (Moscow, St. Petersburg). Users just need to get a SIM, activate the Mobile Ticket service and pay for public transport by bringing their smartphone to the base of the payment terminal.

Where to buy a SIM card with NFC?

All major Russian operators, including the Big Four (MTS, MegaFon, Beeline, Tele2), have SIM cards with NFC. The fares are the same as those paid with a travel ticket. The limit on the card can be replenished using special terminals. If the balance is not enough for the trip, the account is debited Money from mobile number no additional commission.

There are several unpleasant moments that customers of any of the operators may encounter when they want to purchase a SIM card with NFC:

  1. The NFC module on a certain smartphone does not 100% guarantee synchronization with a SIM card. Full list compatible devices can be viewed on the official website of the mobile operator.
  2. Finding such SIM-cards is extremely problematic. Before going to the communication salon, we recommend that you contact the operator and clarify whether the SIM card is available.

An NFC-enabled SIM card is a convenient alternative to travel tickets and is always close at hand. The problem is that it is very difficult to find such a card, and for it to work, you need a compatible smartphone with built-in NFC technology.

Those who started their work on the territory of Russia just a month ago have already managed to change our life for the better. Thanks to them, we stopped digging in wallets, delaying the queue, and "shining" bills in plain sight. So, in any case, say those who have already experienced all the benefits of contactless payment for themselves. But what about those who do not have this privilege?

Despite the relatively widespread prevalence mobile services to conduct transactions, many Russians (and not only them) do not have the opportunity to use them. The reason for this is quite simple and literally lies on the surface - the smartphone market is not limited only to Apple devices and Samsung. Some people prefer to use something less flashy, but certainly more accessible.

There are many ways to turn your smartphone, regardless of manufacturer, into a real wallet. Let's start in order.

The first and, in my opinion, the most preferable one is Yandex.Money.

Few people know that the Yandex.Money application for Android supports contactless payments, requiring from the client only an integrated smartphone NFC module... The user must take care of replenishing the wallet with title units (read - money).

The second way is an NFC SIM card.

Such releases mobile operator MTS in cooperation with the bank of the same name. Install a functional card into your smartphone and pay for purchases with a light touch on the terminal. Nobody will guess that you cheated!

Of course, call it full replacement Apple Pay all the same it is impossible, since transactions are not subject to encryption and do not require fingerprint identification. In addition, you still have to open a separate account with MTS PJSC or Russian Standard Bank.

However, if you are already a cardholder of one of the two banks, the problem disappears by itself. All you have to do is visit the nearest cell phone shop or bank branch, where you can get the above-described SIM card completely free of charge.

Method three - NFC antenna.

Live antenna looks less intimidating

For all those whose smartphones do not have a "near field" module in their arsenal, the path to "no contact" will be somewhat more difficult. They will have to either replace the device with a new one, which is irrational, or equip it with an NFC antenna on their own. Contrary to popular belief, this is much easier to do than to imagine.

To do this, you need to purchase an external NFC antenna, which is sold in mobile shops, and, gluing it to the surface of the SIM card, place it under the cover of your smartphone. A small remark: this operation will not be possible for owners of devices with non-removable back panel and a side SIM card slot.

NFC bracelets.

Some banks, including Alfa-Bank, are engaged in the release of seemingly unsophisticated bracelets that carry in their design an NFC chip associated with your personal account... It works exactly the same way as plastic cards with PayPass or PayWave technology.

Check with the bank's representatives about the availability of the appropriate accessories in their assortment and, having received a copy, remove the chip from the purchased bracelet and simply put it in the case of your smartphone or tablet. Thus, you do not have to not only remember about the need to have a wallet with you, but also worry about the autonomy of the main gadget.

The cost of an NFC bracelet, depending on the bank, ranges from 500 to 1000 rubles. A cover with a small pocket on the back will cost you the same amount.
