Imho Already the name of WiFi Amplifier is misleading. This is not a wifi signal amplifier, this is a repeater. And what is the "repeater" with simple words? Imagine that the bedroom does not finish the kitchen. But you can put in the middle, in the corridor, a person who hears both. And loudly repeats everything that hear.

Analogy is almost complete. Only a radio signal instead of sound. Obvious and advantages and limitations and disadvantages. Very easy to deploy. It is clear that it is necessary to put in the middle where both are well audible. It is clear that the speed falls two times compared to direct visibility. The repeater must first take, then send. And taking into account additional pollution, the ether will fall even more. After all, WiFi is like a crowd in the same room. At any time, only one thing can be broadcast. (Well, in fact a little harder, but in 2.4Ghz there are only three independent channels)

So if you have a zone of uncertain reception in your apartment, I would not advise such a device. You can find a router with antennas better. Search another place for him. Set the access point by connecting it with a router wire (or PowerLine at a thin end). And the overseas device from my point of view is suitable as a temporary and / or mobile solution.

Why do I need such a beast

First, I want to at the playground, when I walk with the children, there was a normal WiFi. And my Asus RT-N56U perfectly covers the apartment and even visible on the playground on one side of the house. But weakly and not on the whole. And on the other hand, the house is not visible at all. Put two more access points for window sills ugly.
