How to connect wireless Bluetooth headphones to HDTV TV

By connecting the wireless headphones to your TV, you can unscrew the volume "on the full coil", without risking to enter the conflict with relatives and neighbors. In this article I will tell you how to use Bluetooth headphones with an HDTV TV.

Why connect wireless headphones to the TV?

In this matter there are two "why?" First, why do I need headphones for the HDTV TV? Here you can give different answers. Each user has its own reason. If a person suffers from a hearing impairment, then the headphones save the rest of the family from the teaching of the TV. Even if you don't have obvious hearing disorders, but you like to include TV louder or quieter than other family members, then a couple of wireless headphones will be a great way out of the situation. And if someone loves to watch movies or play on the console late in the evening and at night, then the headphones are for him a mandatory accessory.

Secondly, why do we need bluetooth headphones? Why not IK and not RF headphones? Wireless headphones for TV have been produced for many years. Take, at least, the magnificent Sennhesier RS120S, who have deserved many positive feedback. But they have one substantial minus. RF headphones are forever tied to the system purchased with them. Whatever impeccable quality was given by RS120S, but they can only be used along with a bulky charge-charging connected to the TV.

The beauty of Bluetooth headphones is that it is not just a wireless, but very flexible solution. You can buy a couple of such headphones and use them with HDTV, smartphone, iPod and any other gadgets that transmit sound via Bluetooth. It is much easier and saving.

In addition, the choice of Bluetooth headphones is wide enough, therefore it is not difficult to find those that ideally go to your ear. The number of RF-headphones models is limited.

Let's look at how the Bluetooth headphones are connected to the TV. With smartphones, everything is simple, since this option has long been standard for them. The situation is a bit more complicated with the TV. Modern TV models, too, seem to support Bluetooth, but in most cases it is not so. We will have to tinker in order to connect Bluetooth headphones to HDTV.

What do we need?

First, we need to figure out which sound output channels have a TV or an acoustic system connected to it. Only then should go to the store for wireless headphones (if you have no more) and a Bluetooth transmitter.

If you use a TV without additional acoustics, then you will study the ports of the ports. If the sound from the TV (and from such sources as the BluRay player, the game console and so on) enters the speaker system, then it follows its ports of ports. In the second case, we connect wireless headphones not only to the TV, but also to all other devices connected to the audio system.

Look at the drawing. Here are three main types of audio outputs that can be useful for us. Composite: Two LEFT / RIGHT sockets (L / R) are indicated by white and red. Jack familiar to everyone 3.5 mm, often sign "Audio". And also an optical output - a gray "door" with the signature "Optical".

The overwhelming majority of widescreen TVs have an optical port and, on the least, one of the two remaining. Composite output and Jack give sound in an analog format that does not require the conversion (with some Bluetooth adapter models you may need an inexpensive adapter).

If your TV is no analog output (which is extremely unlikely), you will have to buy a digital-analog converter connected to optical output. A good model stands in the area of \u200b\u200b10 dollars.

Choose a Bluetooth transmitter

The most important feature of the Bluetooth transmitter is the number of simultaneously connected headphones. Some wireless headphones can be connected to any transmitter, there are several options for two headphones and you are not very lucky if you need to use more than two Bluetooth headphones at the same time.

For one pair of headphones, MPOW Streambot will be an excellent choice. For 25-30 dollars you will receive excellent sound quality, as well as two important features - a built-in battery and the presence of not only signal transmission, but also to receive. So, it will be possible to configure the sound of Bluetooth sound from other devices. That is, everything that transmits the sound to the wireless speakers can be played in your Bluetooth headphones without reconnecting. A pleasant option for which you do not need to pay extra.

If you want to connect two wireless headphones to the TV, the choice of adapters is strongly narrowed, and the price grows. I have not seen Bluetooth transmitters cheaper than $ 50. Two wireless headphones can be connected to a TV via Avantree Priva ($ 57). Another good option is Miccus Mini Jack TX4 ($ 58).

Choose Bluetooth headphones for connecting to a TV

The choice of Bluetooth headphones is almost endless. You can buy a budget model, 700-800 rubles. And those who wish to bite will be able to find the option, the price of which is comparable to a used or a foreign car.

Personally, I did not chase the perfect sound and preferred a budget version of wireless headphones for a TV with a fairly good quality - Beyution Stereo Bluetooth Headphones ($ 23). They are sufficiently light, but hardy. These headphones hold a battery charge for a long time, comfortably sit on my head and my ears have no complaints about their sound. To view the TV shows and films, you hardly need a higher quality.

How to configure all this?

Surely you spend more time reading the characteristics of the Bluetooth headset than to connect to the TV. There is nothing complicated in this.

Using the previous section of this article, you identified audio outputs at the source (TV or audio system). Now it's time to attach a Bluetooth transmitter to one of them. To a 3.5 mm headphone connector or composer audio output, the transmitter connects directly (as a last resort, through a simple adapter).

In the case of an optical port, you will have to use the above-mentioned digital-analog converter. It connects to the TV, and the Bluetooth transmitter to it.

In the next step, we connect wireless headphones to the transmitter. In the case of Priva and many other similar models, you need to press the main button on the device, and wait until the light on it will flash on it. When the light bulb has fallen, you need to press and hold the button on the headphones. After a few seconds, the device must connect to each other. Wear headphones, turn on the TV and enjoy!

If there is no sound in headphones, then check whether they are connected with a Bluetooth transmitter. Disconnect the transmitter input from the TV and serve the sound from another device. For example, from a laptop or smartphone.

If from other devices the sound is played, and from the TV - no, you need to go to the settings of your HDTV or audio system. Search in the menu items associated with headphones or external columns (Auxiliary Speakers). Some TV models do not serve sound to external sources until this option is specifically activated.

So, spending relatively some money for additional purchases, we have connected the wireless Bluetooth headphones to the TV and expanded their multimedia features. As a Bluetooth transmitter, and headphones can be used not only with a TV, but also with a variety of other devices.
