How to install Windows 10 on lumiya. How to install Windows using an Android smartphone. Video: Install Windows Emulator on Android Phone

Many Windows users Phone are familiar with how Microsoft, to put it mildly, threw the owners of old devices running under Windows control Phone 8.1. First, she struck their devices off the list of supported devices before sending out the first release update to Windows 10 Mobile, leaving only access to preliminary assemblies, and then closed it too. As a result, users who, for whatever reason, rolled back the OS to Windows Phone 8.1 cannot load Windows 10 Mobile. Only the more advanced are still trying to resist, making Interop Unlock and disguising their devices for those models for which "ten" is available and that's it actual updates for her. But this, as it turned out, is not the only one existing option... There is another method that does not require Interop Unlock and is suitable even for devices that do not have a memory card slot. If you have puzzled over how to install Windows 10 Mobile on an unsupported Windows Phone 8.1 smartphone, we recommend that you read this manual.

This method has been tested for Nokia Lumia 520 with Windows Phone 8.1 (8.10.14219.341) on board. We do not guarantee that it will help absolutely all users, since we do not have the necessary fleet of devices to fully test it. However, it is known that it is unlikely to work in the case of the HTC 8s and Nokia Lumia 530.

What you need:

1. Computer with Windows 7 / 8.1 / 10.
2. USB cable.
3. Account with administrator rights.

Instructions

1. Download the archive with the program for manual installation.
2. Download the archive with Windows 10 Mobile cab files. In this case, assembly files 10.0.10586.107 are provided.
3. On your computer, open the "C" drive and create an "App" folder in it (without the quotes).
4. Open the created folder, then the archive with the program and extract the contents of the latter into the "App" folder.
5. Go to the "Updates" folder in "App", open the archive with cab-files and extract them into this directory.
6. Return to the root of the "App" folder, find the "start.exe" file and run it as administrator (Right click on the file> "Run as administrator"> "Yes").
7. In the program window, click on the "Settings" button. Make sure that the path to the "Update" folder where the Windows 10 Mobile cab files are stored is correctly specified in the window that appears.
8. Close the "Settings" window you opened.
9. Connect your smartphone to the computer via a USB cable and unlock the screen of the mobile device.
10. In the main window of the program, click on the "Information about the phone" button. If the system has all required drivers for a smartphone, a small information about it should appear in the window: name, manufacturer, model.
11. Click on the "Update phone" button.
12. Click once on the path to cab files for Windows 10 Mobile, and then on the "Ok" button.
13. The program will start downloading cab files to your smartphone. Make sure that the screen of your smartphone is unlocked during the download and pre-installation of the update.
14. Wait while the update download and installation process is complete. The progress bar may freeze several times at long time, but it normal. If during the migration process progress is stuck at 19 points and 63%, you can remove the battery, insert it back and turn on the computer, or restart the smartphone with physical buttons. To do this, you will need to hold down and hold the volume down button and the power button for 10-12 seconds.

If you want to install the "Anniversary Update" ( Anniversary Update, Build 14393), which, incidentally, works much better than the November update, you will need to do and for which this update is available.

conclusions

As you understand, everything is done very simply. We tried to tell as much as possible about how to install Windows using an Android smartphone in just a few steps.

If you find an error, please select a piece of text and press Ctrl + Enter.

First, about the supported types of equipment. Before figuring out how to install Windows 10 on a Lumiya smartphone, let's present a list of smartphones on which you can, in principle, install Windows 10:

We will update the operating system based on the OS previous version, as which we will consider Windows 8.1 (although it could have been the "Seven") assemblies not lower than 8.10.14219.341. Before starting the installation, you need to make sure that all the latest service packs are installed on the system, as well as that you have an active Windows Insider account.

If this is not the case, then you need to go to https://insider.Windows.com/ and register. There are no difficult moments in the registration procedure - everything should go smoothly. Then download the Windows Insider app, which you can take from here: https://www.microsoft.com/uk-ua/store/apps/Windows-insider/9wzdncrfjbhk is the address of the Microsoft App Store for this app.

These preparations should be enough to get a fresh version of the OS on your computer. Another question: do you need it? Worth a try anyway. Without trying Win10 in work, it is difficult to form any idea about it, even if you shove through a mountain of materials on the Internet. So, let's put the tenth version.

Installation instructions

To put a new Axis on Lumia, you need to do the following manipulations:

After that, the process of downloading the new version will begin, and after its completion you will see Windows interface 10 on your screen. Sometimes the download stops halfway. For example, the system is upgraded to some intermediate version of the "Eight" and it gets stuck. You can get out of this situation by repeating all these steps again.

In general, the ability to install Windows 10 Mobile (and a new version operating system for smartphones will be called that way) appeared about half a year ago, but then there were two problems: not all smartphones were supported and "Windows was still too raw." Basically, now, about a month or two before the release of the final version, if you really can't wait to evaluate the work of Microsoft, you can install the Preview version. This is done very easily (now I will tell you in more detail), but the presence of straight arms is still welcomed.

The first step is to check if Windows 10 Mobile can be installed specifically on your phone model. For this, a special list is posted on the official Microsoft website. In order not to go back and forth on sites, here's a screenshot for you. By the way, it is quite interesting that the list of supported devices includes not only Lumia devices, but also Htc one(M8) for Windows.

If everything is in order, then we continue on. Now you need to make sure that on your specific device is installed latest version software... To do this, just select the "Phone update" item in the settings and click the "Check for updates" button. To install Windows 10 Mobile without problems, your smartphone must have Windows 8.1 build 8.10.14219.341 (or even newer).

In general, Microsoft warns ten times before installing that this Preview version is only for Windows fans and for everyday life it will not suit everyone. But we are geeks, so read here the list of things (in principle, there is nothing critical there) that does not work in this assembly and let's move on. And yes, your account must be registered with Windows program Insider (you can do it here, nothing complicated, regular registration).

If everything is ready (updates are installed, there is a Windows Insider account), then you can now go directly to the installation. To do this, we need the Windows Insider app, which can be downloaded directly from the app store - link. We launch it on the phone and press the button "Get assemblies". Then you can choose two options for receiving updates: Fast (you will receive new assemblies faster, but the number of bugs in them may simply go off scale) and Slow (here, in fact, the opposite is true). Then just follow the instructions on the screen (you will need to click next several times and agree to the terms of use).

Ready. Now go to the settings and look for the item "Phone update". Press the "Check" button and wait until the assembly is loaded and installed. Here it can be installed first build windows 8.1, so just wait until the process comes to the end, and repeat all these steps c Windows application Insider (you may even have to do this several times).
