List of the best kidnapping movies. Best kidnapping movies How to escape from an intruder

This type of crime is one of the most terrible crimes against a person.

The leader in the number of kidnappings is Colombia, where an average of 3-3.5 thousand such crimes are registered annually, which is approximately 60% of the total number of kidnapped people in the world.

Mass abductions of people were noted in Russia at the end of the 20th century. Most of them are in the North Caucasus. In the period from 2000 to 2003, according to official figures, about 2,000 people were abducted in the Chechen Republic.

Men are abducted more often - 84.7%, women - 12.3%, minor children - 3%.

The main reasons and motives for kidnapping:

receiving a ransom;

settling accounts, revenge;

ritual actions, including totalitarian sects;

resolving personal or political issues;

kidnapping of children for sale to childless families;

using people as blood or internal organ donors;

porn business, prostitution;

slavery;

criminal acts of maniacs.

Quite often kidnappers torture, rape, subject them to moral, psychological, narcotic influence or kill their victims.

Kidnapping is always a carefully planned, well-prepared, multi-stage operation. Criminals try not to kidnap a random victim. Abduction can occur at any time and in any place, most often where a person is least protected. Most abductions occur in the morning, when people leave their homes. Criminals can lure or forcibly (by force) drag the victim into the car. To facilitate the solution of the problem, criminals use uniforms: military, police, medical, forged documents. Many kidnappers are friendly, they do not seem dangerous, people often like them, they can lull the vigilance of the victim, taking advantage of her kindness, gullibility, naivety.

Actions to prevent kidnapping.

In case of suspicion of a possible abduction, it is necessary to report this to the police, to increase vigilance.

Don't make your wealth public. Do not share information about yourself and your family with strangers.

Do not carry large amounts of cash with you, do not wear expensive items and jewelry.

Do not leave children in the evening and at night without adult supervision.

Do not visit potentially dangerous places: landfills, basements, attics, construction sites, forest belts.

Do not approach an unfamiliar standing or slow moving car at close range, walk on the sidewalk.

Never agree to an offer from a stranger to get into his car, go to his apartment, go to a place you do not know, to the cinema, to the theater, to a concert, to a restaurant.

Learn how to use the telephone, personal communication system, alarm system.

Do not accept gifts from random passers-by.

Do not eat foods, sweets, water, alcoholic drinks offered by strangers.

Avoid meetings with noisy, drunken companies, with people decorated with tattoos.

Do not engage in street conversations with strangers. Be confident and calm.

Before entering the apartment, look for strangers near the house or on the stairwell.

At nightfall, turn on the light in one of the rooms, curtain all the windows on the first floor.

Never open the front door until you are sure that people you know are behind it.

Never, under any pretext, let strangers into the apartment.

Before leaving the apartment, look through the peephole for strangers in the stairwell.

When leaving the apartment, even for a few minutes, be sure to lock the front door.

When leaving home, close all windows, vents, balcony doors. Turn on the alarm, hand over the apartment under protection.

Walk one route. He must be safe. Don't stop or linger on the road.

In a conspicuous place in the apartment, write the phone numbers of your friends, neighbors, colleagues, special services in case of an emergency.

actions of the abducted.

If, nevertheless, the criminals managed to kidnap you, do not panic, get together, show will and patience, despite the psychological shock and everyday inconveniences: limited space, irregular meals, threats.

Right at the time of the abduction, your actions may be active or passive. An active character involves resisting the kidnappers. The passive nature of such resistance does not imply that the kidnapped person is completely subject to the kidnappers. During the kidnapping, you need to take advantage of the slightest opportunity to escape from the criminals.

Try to remember how many abductors there were, their approximate age, nationality, accent during conversation, gender, characteristic external signs, topics of conversation, make and number of the car, its color.

After the abduction, you will be taken to a prearranged place of confinement. A closed vehicle can be used for this. You may be blindfolded so that you cannot see the road. Remember the number of stops of the car, its speed, the nature of the road: descents, ascents, bumps, turns. An important indicator is the speed of movement and travel time. If possible, determine the direction and route of movement.

After the abduction, you will be kept in confinement in an isolated apartment, house, basement, dugout. The first time is the most difficult: fear, mental excitement, uncertainty, a sharp change in the usual way of life, temporary inconvenience. Try to keep calm and common sense, do not lose heart, do not lose heart. Try to be courageous, with human dignity. Do not refuse food and water. Criminals may forget to feed you or give you water, ask for food and water yourself. During confinement, you can get sick. Report this to the kidnappers, ask for medicine.

Kidnappers can record your voice on tape, take photographs or film a video, take something from your personal belongings, force you to write a letter to friends and relatives. Don't resist, do whatever they ask. This information is needed by attackers to contact your relatives or intermediaries.

The length of time spent in captivity may vary. This time must be used rationally: ask for reading literature, paper and a pen, if possible - listen to the radio or watch TV. Do not forget about physical exercises, even elementary squats, swinging arms and legs, head rotation, push-ups from the floor will help you. Personal hygiene, even in conditions of confinement, is mandatory.

Basic Release Options. 1.

Fulfillment of all the requirements of criminals or finding a compromise. 2.

A sharp change in the situation among criminals. 3.

Capitulation of the kidnappers due to the impossibility of obtaining a ransom or the emergence of a real threat to their own safety. 4.

Release of hostages by law enforcement agencies.

In the process of confinement, unforeseen circumstances may arise that must be used to your advantage: attracting one of the attackers to your side, using accidentally left uncontrolled means of communication (telephone, radiotelephone, mobile phone) to inform relatives, to the police. In the event of a favorable situation for the implementation of the escape - use it. 6.3.

In countries with a low standard of living, some residents find no other way than to kidnap a person, and then demand a ransom from his relatives. Traveling to such countries is quite dangerous, unless, of course, you are a desperate extreme person who is thirsty for adventure. Get to know the 5 countries in which abductions most often occur, remember and be careful.

  1. Mexico

In general, in Mexico, the criminal situation is already not the most favorable, and, in addition to kidnapping, there are enough other problems. The fact that drugs are transported through Mexico to the United States has affected the infrastructure and the level of corruption of local officials. It is believed that only the drug mafia has real power in the country. Hence there is a problem with kidnapping, which most often arises on the basis of criminal showdowns. However, no one is surprised and just kidnappings for ransom. So when traveling to Mexico, be extremely careful. About three thousand people are kidnapped in this country every year, and the likelihood of becoming part of this statistic is, unfortunately, high.

People go missing every day in this country. For the people of Iraq, this has already become the norm. The Anti-Kidnapping Department is trying to somehow rectify the situation, but they say that he himself is in cahoots with groups of kidnappers. And this happens because the country has a very low standard of living, and people do not have money for food. This is the reason why it is difficult to talk about some serious fight against organized crime. If you ever find yourself in Iraq, then try not to walk the streets after sunset, because most often people are kidnapped on the streets and in the dark.

  1. India

Recently, news about kidnappings in India has been increasingly appearing in the media. Most often, young children and women are kidnapped for ransom or to commit sexual violence against them. The paradox lies in the fact that often the police are well aware of the abductions and the abductors themselves and simply take a certain fee from the attackers. Very often, kidnapping crimes happen because of the prevailing disproportion between men and women.

In this country, the problem of kidnapping is gaining momentum. On some islands, in order not to be kidnapped, you even need to try. Therefore, either those who have not read anything about the place where they went, or those who seem to want to be abducted, come here. The reasons for such a disaster are banal: the low standard of living, the poverty of the majority of the population, which has no other way to earn money, except to kidnap a person and sell him to his relatives for ransom.

  1. Venezuela

In order to prevent tourists from being kidnapped in Venezuela, special reservations have even been built for them, in which they live. Tourists arriving in Venezuela can only go outside when accompanied by guards, as it is believed that they will either be kidnapped, or killed, or, at best, robbed. There are many gangs in the country that specialize in kidnapping people for ransom.

Watch the video "How to behave in case of kidnapping?":

The 90s of the last century are called "dashing" for a reason. The country was carried away, all legal and moral restrictions were swept away. One war after another blazed in Chechnya, the country was choked by a severe financial crisis. And against this background, such crimes surfaced that the USSR had never heard of before. Including one of the most cynical and bloody types of criminal business - kidnapping.

This type of crime has become a real criminal business, bringing stable and considerable income, first of all in the warring Chechnya. The money received as a ransom for the kidnapped was used to finance Chechen fighters and ended up in the pockets of local "emirs" of all stripes and shades. The bandits did not stand on ceremony with the captives: they could get a ransom, and then mutilate and kill the victim.

On March 5, 1999, another flight was heading to Moscow from Grozny airport. On board the liner was Major General Gennady Shpigun. He said goodbye to the guards who remained on the airfield and climbed aboard. The plane, taxiing to takeoff, began to pick up speed. And then everything went wrong. At the very end of the runway, that is, far from both the general’s guards and representatives of law enforcement agencies, the liner, which had not yet had time to take off, blocked an unknown car. The pilots of the liner managed to stop and avoid disaster. Unknown people with machine guns jumped out of the car and at gunpoint forced the crew to open the entrances to the salon.

Bursting inside, they grabbed Gennady Shpigun, took him out of the liner, put him in a car and disappeared in an unknown direction. Almost a year later, on March 31, 2000, the body of the kidnapped general was found near the village of Itum-Kali. A genetic examination was carried out, which established with absolute accuracy that it was Gennady Shpigun.

Later, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation reported that the general was kidnapped on the orders of separatists from the gang of Abdul-Malik Mezhidov. For all the time while the general was alive and was in Chechen captivity, no one demanded a ransom for him. The kidnapping and murder of Gennady Shpigun, of course, was associated with his active participation in the first and second Chechen wars. They just settled scores with him.

Journalists in captivity

How many people were abducted in Chechnya in the 1990s, no one knows for sure, such statistics simply were not kept. It is only known that in the “dashing decade” more than 46 thousand people were enslaved in the republic. They were used in forced labor - from the collection of wild wild garlic to the construction of roads to Georgia through Itum-Kale and Tazbichi. Some of them were not kidnapped, but lured to Chechnya by fraudulent means and there they were already enslaved.

Russian soldiers captured by militants also became slaves. There were hundreds of them, only a few managed to return home. Those who were kidnapped could be used in two ways. Some were forced to work as slaves, others were kidnapped for ransom. Characteristically, these crimes became a real business after the withdrawal of troops from Chechnya, starting in mid-1997, when the film crews of the central Russian television channels were kidnapped in the rebellious republic.

On January 19, ORT journalists Roman Perevezentsev and Vladislav Tibelius disappeared in Chechnya. They were released on 18 February 1997 after lengthy searches and negotiations. And on May 10 of the same year, the militants abducted the film crew of the NTV television company, consisting of special correspondent Elena Masyuk, cameraman Ilya Mordyukov and sound engineer Dmitry Olchev. They survived and returned to Moscow after 101 days.

However, it is worth noting that the management of the TV channels initially behaved incorrectly. They went along with the kidnappers and huge ransoms were paid for both film crews. It was then that the bandits realized that it was possible to make good and regular money on this. The number of kidnappings has increased dramatically, this type of crime has become regular, and journalists have been hunted down.

Between 1997 and 1999, in addition to these two abductions, nine more similar crimes were committed against members of the press. In most cases, the abductees returned alive and well, except for one tragic story - in 1994, journalists from the Nevskoe Vremya newspaper Maxim Shabalin and Felix Titov were abducted in Chechnya and disappeared without a trace. Nothing is known about their fate until now.

This continued until the early 2000s, and only the tough hand of Ramzan Kadyrov was able to stop the “Chechen lawlessness” ten years later, although kidnappings for ransoms still occur in the Caucasus.

TV presenter kidnapping

In the dashing 90s, kidnappings took place not only in Chechnya, but throughout Russia. It was one of the favorite methods of pressure on businessmen. Became a victim of kidnappers
even the permanent TV presenter of the "Field of Miracles" Leonid Yakubovich. Recall that the TV project itself was invented and promoted by the now deceased. And it was one of the most rated and successful projects of the first channel.

In 1994, the channel experienced a serious conflict of interest. Listyev's opponents tried to cut the ground from under his feet, depriving Vladislav of the most rated programs. As a result, Leonid Yakubovich was kidnapped. He was brought to some secret apartment and kept there for several days, forcing him to sign a letter of resignation from the Field of Miracles program.

However, Yakubovich was stubborn and did not sign anything. Eventually he was released. The showman did not give wide publicity to this story, realizing that he still had to work on the channel, and it was not known how everything would turn out further. Maybe that's why he escaped the fate of Listyev, who was shot by killers in the entrance of his own house on March 1, 1995.

As people who worked in the structures of combating organized crime in the mid-90s of the last century recall, at that time Moscow was literally overwhelmed by a wave of kidnappings of businessmen, their wives and children. The stories were downright creepy. For example, the bandits tried to protect one businessman who kept trading pavilions at the clothing market in the VDNKh area. At first, they simply “ran over” him. But the businessman had his own rather serious security service and managed to beat off the “collision”. And then the bandits organized the kidnapping of the entrepreneur's nine-year-old son.

The child was taken to school in a car with a security guard. Once this car was blocked by two cars of bandits. After killing the security guard and the driver, the criminals kidnapped the boy, and after a while a call to his father followed with a demand to "get out of the market." And when the businessman became stubborn and turned to law enforcement agencies, he received a parcel with cut off fingers of a schoolboy. By the way, neither the body of the deceased child, nor the kidnappers have yet been found.

As the employees of the RUBOP recall, then in the capital this bloody business was "held" by the Georgian mafia - "authorities" who fled Georgia along with their capital, fearing reprisals arranged by Shevardnadze. They settled in Moscow and engaged in kidnappings. With enormous efforts, the Georgian mafia managed to be reined in, but this "baton" was immediately picked up by people from the North Caucasus. Although not in such volumes, the kidnappings continued.

An equally terrible story happened in 1996 in the family of the then leader of Yabloko, Grigory Yavlinsky. On the eve of the 1996 elections, his eldest son from the first marriage of the politician's wife Mikhail was kidnapped. After some time, Yavlinsky received a "black mark" - a phalanx of one of the boy's fingers, wrapped in a note "If you don't leave politics, we'll cut off your head." True, the boy was released immediately after this terrible torture. He got home, his parents rushed to the best surgeons, and the finger was healed.

No one deserves what these kids went through.

While he was driving her, Elizabeth, somewhere in the forest along the way, threw away her shoes in the hope that they could find her on them. Later, when she won her captor's trust and was given permission to leave the underground bunker, she pulled out strands of her hair and threw them on the ground, for the same purpose. Elizabeth eventually managed to escape by texting her mother from her kidnapper's phone after he fell asleep. He also referred to himself as her "savior", constantly reminding her that the "boss" wanted to kill her. This later raised suspicions of the existence of some kind of pedophile group, but the investigation was suspended when Dutroux admitted that he acted alone. When Sabina was in captivity for 74 days, she asked her captor to bring her a girlfriend. He kidnapped 14-year-old Letizia Delfez, but his car was recognized by the locals. Letizia spent 6 days in captivity, after which both girls were found. They were not found until two days after Dutroux was arrested. Dutroux is also responsible for the deaths of four girls. Melissa Russo and Julie Lejeune, 8-year-olds, also kidnapped and abused by him, died of exhaustion in the same basement while Dutroux was serving time for car theft. There were other murders - Dutroux buried 17-year-old En Marshal and Efi Lambrex alive. Dutroux never confessed to any of these murders, but was sentenced to life in prison. His wife and accomplice Michelle Martin, who knew the children were in the basement but did not release them and let them starve to death while her husband was in jail for theft, was sentenced to 30 years in prison but got out after 16 years. to freedom.

When the authorities searched Dutroux's home (he was then serving time for car theft), they heard the screams of 8-year-olds Julie and Melissa, but did not find the entrance to this basement and decided that the screams were coming from the street.

Elizabeth was shackled, "married" to Mitchell, having carried out a certain religious ceremony, after which Mitchell regularly came and raped her. Four years later, Devlin kidnapped another boy, 13-year-old Ben Ownby, and Ben's neighbor Mitchell Hults remembered Devlin's truck. He gave him another name - Dennis Gregory Parnell and gave him to study in various schools over the next years. When Stephen grew up and ceased to be of interest to his kidnapper, he began to look for a younger victim. He eventually kidnapped 5-year-old Timothy White. In 1980, while Parnella was at work (he worked as a security guard), Stephen took Timmy with him and fled. They made their way to Ukiah, where Timmy was from, but couldn't find his home address and Steven took him to the police. The boys were identified and returned to their families. Parnell was arrested and convicted of kidnapping, but was not tried for sexual assault. He was sentenced to seven years in prison, but he only served five. Natasha Kampusch, Austria - 8 years, 5 months

In 1998, 10-year-old Natasha Kampush was dragged into a white van on her way to school. Her trail was cut off for 8 years. Her abductor was the technician Wolfgang Priklopil. He locked her in a tiny (5ft x 5ft) windowless, soundproof basement built under his house. The door was very strong and carefully hidden from prying eyes. For the first six months, Natasha was not allowed to leave the basement. She lost track of time and did not see the light of day. Later, she was allowed to go upstairs and clean up the upper rooms. He had a terrible obsessive-compulsive disorder and he forced Natasha to completely lick his house. He beat her every time he found at least a fingerprint somewhere, and in general for any reason. He forced her to cover her hair with a plastic bag, and in the end he simply began to shave her head. For eight years, Natasha was beaten, starved and forced to walk half-dressed. One day, Priklopil made the mistake of instructing Natasha to vacuum his car. At that moment, the phone rang in the house and he went to answer the call. Natasha ran as fast as she could, having no idea where she was. She ran to the nearest house, knocked on the door and shouted: "I'm Natasha Kampush!", suggesting that the police were looking for her and her name should be known. When Natasha escaped, she was 18 years old, weighed barely 45 kg, and had grown only 15 cm since the abduction. Shortly after Natasha's escape, Priklopil committed suicide by jumping under a train. Natasha grieved over his death, which gave experts reason to believe that she suffered from Stockholm syndrome. In 2010, she published a book called "3096 days", which was also filmed. Only in 2013, Natasha admitted that Priklopil regularly raped her, earlier she refused to admit it.

The abductor repeatedly beat her and threatened her with a knife, and also punished her with a stun gun. Sato gave her his clothes and cut her hair. Although the doors were never locked, Fusako never once tried to escape. At first she was too scared, then she lost strength and energy and gave up. Nine years later, it was Sato's mother who reported to the authorities that her son was behaving strangely and violently. Fusako was found, and Sato was arrested and sentenced to 14 years in prison. Fusako never fully recovered. She has the mind of a child and severe post-traumatic mental disorder.

Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight, Cleveland - 10 years and 9 months

Michel was the first of three kidnapped by Ariel Castro. This happened in 2002 and she was 21 years old. After 8 months, Castro kidnapped 17-year-old Amanda Berry, and a year later, Gina DeJesus, who was only 14. Castro tricked Michelle into his house. The police didn't search very hard for her because of her age. At Castro's house, Michelle was chained by the arms, legs and neck, and she was fed only on the third day after the abduction. Castro repeatedly beat and brutally raped Michelle. Within 10 years, she became pregnant from him at least 5 times, and all pregnancies ended in miscarriages due to constant beatings and hunger. After Amanda Berry joined her, Castro chained them to each other. Berry also became pregnant by him and had a child. Michelle helped deliver the baby. A year later, a third prisoner, a 14-year-old girl Gina, was added to them. Her abduction was not witnessed, so AMBER Alert was not activated. On the day of the escape, in April 2013, it was Berry who managed to make contact with the neighbors after Castro forgot to lock the house's massive interior door. The outer door was firmly locked, but Berry screamed when she saw her neighbor through the screen in the door. Berry and her 6-year-old daughter managed to get out. Berry called 911 from the neighbors and said, “Help me. I am Amanda Berry. I was kidnapped and I was considered missing for 10 years. And I'm here. Now i am free". Jaycee Dugard, California - 18 years and 2 months

Jaycee Dugard was only 11 when she was kidnapped on her way home from school in 1991. Her captor Philip Garrido tasered her and knocked her unconscious. He was assisted by his wife Nancy, who found and tracked down Jaycee as a "prize" for her husband. When the Garridos arrived home, they had already undressed Jaycee. Philip then wrapped her in a blanket and locked her in a small, soundproof room. Throughout the first week, Jaycee remained handcuffed while food and milkshakes were brought to her. A week later, Garrido forced Jaycee to take a shower with him and raped her for the first time. She was still handcuffed. A few months later, Jaycee was moved to a larger room and handcuffed to a bed. Her kidnapper was a methamphetamine addict. When he failed a drug test and went to jail, his wife Nancy replaced him as Jaycee's taskmaster. At 13, Jaycee became pregnant for the first time. Then, for the first time, her captors began to give her heated food. Three years later, Jaycee gave birth to her second child, another girl. Jaycee was forced to tell her daughters that she was their older sister and Nancy Garrido was their mother. When Jaycee was finally found, she refused to admit what had happened to her and invented a legend. It wasn't until Garrido confessed to the crime that Jaycee admitted it was her. It later became clear that after 18 years of captivity, Jaycee was suffering from Stockholm Syndrome. Surprisingly, Jaycee grew up to be an educated, intelligent woman, and her daughters are fine too. They did not have developmental disabilities. Jaycee was found in 2009. In 2011, Garrido was found guilty of kidnapping and rape. Philip was sentenced to 431 years in prison, while his wife Nancy received 34 years. Jaycee chose not to attend court hearings in the case.
