Step 1. With tweezers or a gypsy needle, we pry the key from the side and gently lift it.

Step 2 Raise the key and hold it with your finger.

Step 3 The button has two grooves into which the sleeve-mount of the “scissors” mechanism itself is inserted (pictured above). In the center of the button, insert the needle and, with a slight effort, disconnect the button.

Only the key cover will remain in the hands, which needs to be replaced.

If desired, you can remove the mechanism itself by slightly sliding the plastic “antennae” towards each other. I recommend doing this only when absolutely necessary. If the mechanism works properly, it is better not to touch it.

Step 4 To install a new button, first position it at a slight angle away from you. Once in the two fasteners, lay the button and press lightly.

For the sake of interest, I noted how much time was spent replacing six keys. Considering this was the first time I'd done this type of DIY repair, it took about 50 minutes to replace.
