What is Cyberlink Power2Go. Power2GO4: A simple way to record your favorite discs from CyberLink. Creating a system recovery disk

CyberLink Power2Go is a program that is designed to record music, video and other data on discs. The program is pretty simple and, moreover, free.

The installation file weighs quite a lot - almost 200 MB. All because CyberLink Power2Go sparkles with beautiful windows interfaces, and is also equipped with a fairly good set of functions. The installer will install a paid version on your computer, which will be free after 15 days, but some functions will be blocked.

The program is able to record disks with data, several types of disks with music, VCD and DVD as well as special discs with photos that allow you to view pictures in the form of a slideshow. On the "Disc Work Utilities" tab, you will find several special features for working with discs. There is a means to save audio tracks from disks to a computer, as well as a full-fledged audio converter.

In the free version there will be not all functions, and one of those functions that will be blocked - "system restoration". Using it, you can write a copy of the entire C: (or another system disk) to then restore the normal system operation in case of failure.

In general, the free version of Cyberlink Power2Go definitely deserves attention.

Restrictions of the free version

  • premium functions are available within 15 days, after this period, the program is available as usual.

Special requirements

  • 9 or higher;
  • 8 or higher;
  • screen resolution 1024 x 768 or more;
  • 2 GB of RAM;
  • minimum Pentium II 450 MHz processor to work with CD / VCD (MPEG-1) and Pentium III 800 MHz or AMD Athlon 700 MHz to work with DVD (MPEG-2);
  • 1 GB of free hard disk space for working with VCD, 5-10 GB to work with DVD and 25 GB to work with Blu-ray discs.

We often get along with a new computer or laptop, we get different pre-installed software, including an application for working with Cyberlink Power2Go discs. Today we will deal with how to record discs using this program.

(MosloadPosition Debug)

CyberLink Power2Go can not only record, but also wash, copy discs and save disk images to a computer. If you purchased a computer with a pre-installed program, you can find the program in the C: \\ Program Files \\ Cyberlink \\ Power2Go folder. Run the POWER2GO.EXE file and you will see the program window.
Download CyberLink Power2Go from our site. You can do it here.

First of all, CyberLink Power2Go will offer you to choose a task. But before that, it is necessary to learn important information about your CD drive and what kind of discs it can record. Therefore, close this window, and in the CyberLink Power2Go main window, click "Set Configuration Options, View Disc Information".

Your CD-ROM drive will appear on the top view. If there are several of them, select the desired here. Below you will see the actuator model and its version. The "Supported Disc Types" section lists the types of disks that can record and read this CD-ROM drive. We decipher what you mean opposite each type of disks inscriptions:
"Read-only" - only reading. If you insert such a disk into the drive, it can only read the data from it.

"READ, WRITE" - reading and writing. If you insert such a disk into the drive, it will be able and read the data from it, and write your information from the computer to it. These discs you should buy to burn files, music, video, etc. on them.

"Not Supported" is not supported. Disks, opposite to which "Not Supported" are specified, do not buy in no case. You will not be able to write information on them, nor count with them already available data.

Record information on the disk

When a suitable disk drive is purchased and on the computer there is information that you would like to write on it, do the following.
Insert the disk into the CD-ROM drive and run Cyberlink Power2Go. In the Task Select window, mark the desired disc type in the Data Disc section and click OK.

At the top of the CyberLink Power2Go window, the contents of your computer will appear, in the bottom-inserted disk. By default, the disk is assigned the name "my_data_mes the number of year". To change it, click on it with the left mouse button and enter the disk name more clear to you.

Now at the top of the CyberLink Power2GO window, find the folders and files you want to record on the disk. "Grab" their mouse, bringing the mouse cursor and holding its left button to each file, and drag into the bottom of the program window, i.e. to disk. At the bottom of the CyberLink Power2Go window, you will see an indicator reflecting the disk fullness. While he has not reached a red strip, new files can be added to the disk. If the indicator goes a red feature, it will mean that the disk is crowded. In this case, you will have to remove some files from it by highlighting them and pressing the "Delete" key on the keyboard.

When all files and folders are on the disk, press the Burn A Disc button.

In the window that appears, check the "Verify Recorded Data" option for subsequent verification of the information recorded to the disk for the burden of burning. The recording speed will be determined automatically. You can also set it manually by selecting the desired value from the WRITE SPEED list. Here will be displayed only supported by the drive and disc record speed. Press the "Burn" button to start the data recording process to the disk.

For some time, you will be blown up the window with the recording status. When the recording indicator reaches 100%, you will see a message about the successful recording and checking of the disk. Press the "OK" button, and in the recording status window - "Close". Computer CD-drive automatically open, presenting you hot and cavity ready-made disc.

Erasing RW Disc

As we have already said, Cyberlink Power2Go can not only record discs, but also to wash them. Keep in mind that you can erase only RW discs, both CD and DVD. Records with R (CD-R, DVD-R, etc.) are suitable for a single recording or multiple recording without closing the session. But even in the latter case, it is impossible to erase data from such a disk.
To remove information from the RW disc, insert it into the drive, start the CyberLink Power2Go and press the Erase A Rewritable Disc button.

Select the disk cleaning mode: fast (only disk tables) or full (all content). Fast disk erasing takes less time and is suitable for most cases. Press the Erase button to start the disk cleaning process.

At the end of this process, you will receive a message that the disc cleaning is successfully completed. Just click "OK".

Saving and writing a disk image

Quite often, it is required not only to erase and record discs, but also create their exact copies (images) to save on a computer and subsequent recording to other clean discs. This will help the CYBERLINK POWER2GO disk images feature.
To save on the computer a full disk image with all the information recorded on it, insert it into the drive and start the Cyberlink Power2Go. In the task list, select "Disc Utilities" - "Save Disc Image".

Click the "Browse" button and select the folder to save the disk image, then press the "SAVE" button. All images created by the Cyberlink Power2Go program have an extension of P2I.

When the indicator reaches 100%, the full disk image will be saved on your computer. Press the "OK" button, and in the recording status window - "Close".
In order to record the image saved on the computer on a clean disc, in the "Disc Utilities" section, select "Burn Disc Image".

In the window that appears, click the "Browse" button and select the disk image previously saved on the computer. Tick \u200b\u200bthe "Verify Recorded Data" option to check the information recorded to the disk for burning errors and press the "Burn" button.

After some time, you will get an accurate copy of the disk, the image of which was once kept. At the same time, the image itself is written to the disk, but folders stored in it and files. This method is suitable for copying boot discs and records downloaded from the Internet images, the benefit of CyberLink Power2Go can record not only created by the P2I image program itself, but also images of the disks in the common ISO format.

Thus, if the CyberLink Power2Go program was on your computer, you can quickly burn the disc, create its image image or erase the RW, without resorting to the help of other applications. CyberLink Power2GO is somewhat faster and easier than Nero, although it may not have all its functionality, it all depends on the version of the program installed on the computer. And of course, CyberLink Power2Go allows you to erase and record discs much faster than standard Windows tools.

december 2004 →.

Cyberlink Media Suite 11 Ultimate is one of the most advanced software packages designed to work with multimedia data. Of course, such a major project simply could not be left without such trifles as a means for recording discs. And as usual, specialists from Cyberlink Corp paid this little question to maximum attention. The result of their works was the Power2GO 8 application, which perfectly fit into the package. Its possibilities are not limited to the records of the disks. The program is also equipped with tools for working with their images, including the virtual drive emulation function.

In the next article dedicated to the Cyberlink Media Suite 11 Ultimate Multimedia Package, I will tell you about the application for working with laser disks, which is called Power2GO 8.

Despite the fact that the Windows family operating systems have long acquired tools for recording laser drives, most users still use applications from third-party developers for this purpose.

This is quite explained, considering how incomprehensible this process is organized in Windows. Well, in addition, third-party applications are usually endowed with various additional features, thanks to which the standard means look at their background as something archaic.

And even often such programs are similar to among themselves, as if twin sisters, Power2GO 8 wins many of them at least what extends in the Cyberlink Media Suite 11 Ultimate package. Having bought it, you will get everything immediately to work with multimedia data.

However, the program is distributed separately, but it is no longer so profitable from an economic point of view.

Strictly speaking, Power2GO 8, in turn, is also a software package, which includes four small applications, closely interconnected with each other.

The basis of the entire package is the POWER2GO application itself. Like all programs that are part of the Cyberlink Media Suite 11 Ultimate package, it does not boast of the support of the Russian language, but has an intuitive interface. So you should not have any special difficulties in learning.

Let's start the program and look at it at work.

On the entire width of the working space of the application window, six icons are located, each of which is hidden a separate category of operating instruments.

The first in the list is the Data Disc item, designed to record disks with arbitrary data. Everything is simple here. Choose a type of disk that we will create. I will select a DVD for example.

As you can see, everything, in general, is standard. The interface is divided into four parts where the data stored on the computer and the data being added to the disc, the name of the disc created and other concomitant information is displayed.

In the lower part there is a scale for which you can determine the amount of data prepared for writing.

And here there is a function that allows you to protect the recordable password information.

Next, in the main application window, the options for creating audio and video discs are followed, as well as discs with photo gallery. Despite the lack of Russian, everything is clear there, because basically you have to focus on the available formats. And the inscriptions like Audio CD and MP3 DVD, it seems to me, do not wash anyone.

The Copy Disc function allows not only to copy data from a single disk to another, but also makes it possible to create and write disk images. True, the list of supported formats is very modest. For example, POWER2GO can record the images of three formats - P2i, ISO and RDF on the disks. And only two - P2I and ISO are created.

Of course, I would like to see other popular formats. But ISO support is undoubtedly pleased.

The last point in the list is Disc Utilities. By the way, most of the functions presented here are available in the disk recording window, in the Burning menu section. Here you can wash the discs, save to the disk writing from the audio parts, convert audio data and so on.

Some functions are introduced into the game other applications. So, one of the tools launches the LabelPrint program, which I wrote in one of the recent ones.

And the Virtual Drive feature will use the Power2GO Virtual Drive application, which is also part of the package under consideration. This program allows you to add a virtual drive to your system and mounted disk images into it, with which you can work almost exactly the same as with physical media.

The program is very simple and convenient. The principle of its action is visible in just one screenshot. Unfortunately, a set of formats of images is small. These are all the same P2I, ISO and RDF.

CyberLink ISO Viewer is another row from the POWER2GO 8 set. It serves to view the contents of disk images. There is nothing complicated here too. After opening the image file program from the left side, its name appears, and the content is displayed. Directly from here you can start writing an image to a disk or mount it into a virtual drive.

Hello will tell everyone that this program is such a Cyberlink Power2Go and whether it needs it or better to demolish it. In general, CyberLink Power2Go is a tool for recording any information on discs. Music, video, just files, all this can be written to the disk without problems. That's just a little strange, the program will lead more than 200 megs and I do not quite understand that such a big one. This oddity interested me. I hit the Internet and did not find anything intelligent, it seems to be so much space occupies design. Well, the functions, all of them are not so little there.

You can write VCD, DVD, as well as discs where the photo will go to the music, the type slideshou. The program has a built-in audio converter.

In general, a cool program, as I understand it, the truths are no longer so popular as in the past. It happens that this program is already pre-installed on laptops with Windows. That is, they put it on the factory to say so.

All the same, I do not quite understand why this program needs. I installed it and how many labels appeared on my desktop:

I can't say that all this trash. But it seems to be a program to record data on the disk, but are still like some kind of programs.

That is, after installation, my desktop appeared on the desktop: cyberlink-power2go-10-multi-win, Cyberlink Labelprint 2.5, Power2GO_10.0.2522.0_essential_b_essential_p2g151125-04, CyberLink Power2GO 10, Cyberlink WaveEditor 2. Although the program is like to record disks but I think that this is some kind of software combine whole

In the Start menu, too, a lot of labels:

This is what CyberLink Power2Go looks like:

Yes, stylishly, I can not say anything. So stylish that nothing is understandable. Why these Ponte I do not understand.

There are even tools for backup:

As you already understood the program is not in Russian. No, there is nothing particularly terrible in this. Just I personally lazy was to understand it when there are simplicity utilities of the Ultraiso type or to record files to the disk.

Here are the settings of the program:

Everything in English, although it seems like on the Internet you can find a Russified version.

In addition to all in the task manager, I still found two processes from Cyberlink Power2Go, it is clmlsvc_p2g10.exe and Power2Go10.exe (Look you may even be more):

This address establishes the prog:

C: \\ Program Files (x86) \\ Cyberlink \\ Power2Go10

In the autoload, this program also settled. Clamp Win + R, and then insert the msconfig command, click OK and in the open window Go to the Tapart tab, there will be a record about CyberLink:

Here the tick can be removed. But is it not better to delete this program, especially since you see it really hard? As for me so useless. There are for example another software combine, more well-known users, is Nero. But sorry, he is understandable to many and somehow everything is done there that it is easy to understand. Here I may be mistaken, the fact that I used Nero for a long time and then this set of tools was comfortable. Now new versions can already differ slightly in terms of a convenient interface. It's like before Windows XP, and now Windows 10.

In general guys, listen to me, an experienced user of computers with a ten-year experience! Delete this program. Well, really. It is too heel and too cool just to record discs. I'm already silent about backup, for these purposes there are well-known programs of type Acronis, but not Cyberlink Power2Go! By the way about the fact that it is heavy. It is really a bit braked. Despite the fact that I have a modern computer

How to remove CyberLink Power2Go from a computer completely?

I will show how to delete the CyberLink Power2Go program and show how to clean the registry after deleting. Yes, the registry cleansing is optional, but I advise it to fulfill it, especially since it is not so difficult.

By the way, if you use the removal, it will clean the registry after uninstalling the program (but probably not as well as manually). So I advise

To delete the program in Windows you need to do this. We open the start and choose a control panel there:

Then we find the program icon and components, launch it:

In the list of programs you need to find those that from Cyberlink, and as you can see not alone, but three more (although I installed one):

They are all deleted by the standard way, simply press the right-click program, select Delete and follow the instructions. Well, let's start with the first, it is Cyberlink Labelprint:

Then there will be such a window where you need to confirm the removal:

Then there will be such a window, click yes:

Go to the next, CyberLink Power2GO 10:

There will also be such a window, click Yes:

And then the process of uninstalling Cyberlink Power2GO 10 will begin:

Last remained, this is Cyberlink WaveEditor 2, everything is also here:

Then there will be a message again, they click on and the removal will begin:

Everything! After this program from CyberLink on a computer is no longer! In general, you know, this situation reminds me with the installation of viral software. We put one program. Although bulky. In fact it turns out that they put several programs. But we did not speak about it (maybe I did not see where it was written about it). It is so virus programs work, you put one kind of useful, and with it the other is also called the system, it is called as partner settings like. Simple words garbage

Well, I spoke about the garbage and he just stayed on the desktop. You need to delete it if you have something to remove:

So. We removed programs. Now clean the registry. We clamp Win + R, write regedit there and click OK:

Registry editor has opened, there is a lot of things here, but you just don't touch anything here, do not change and do not delete

So, clamp the Ctrl + F editor, and we write in the CyberLink field and click find further:

All those keys and folders that belong to Cyberlink will be found. But the results will be one. That is, there was a folder, in whose name is CyberLink, it will be highlighted. Also with keys. All that will be allocated, for this you need to click on the right button and select Delete:

The keys found also delete:

That damn, almost forgot! To keep the registry search to continue click F3 button! You do not need to clamp again Ctrl + F, otherwise it seems to be the search will not be continued, but started first.

So you will clean the registry from the CyberLink garbage. Yes, you have to tinker a little. I just personally used to keep into the system clean, especially since I do not want to remove the program. Well-groomed Windows will always work quickly as if it was only installed

There is still a moment. You can delete the CyberLink file debris. How to do this I wrote on the example of the complete removal of Avasta, here. But it is less important than the cleaning of the registry. However, if there is time, I advise you to clean, learn a lot!

I just just open the folder% appdata% (via Win + R), then there I have a CyberLink folder (although it should not be there):

Well, it seems to be written. I hope that everything was clear. Good luck to you and smaller jambs in Windows
