HOW TO TRANSMIT / RECEIVE A MESSAGE 8

Welcome to the world of Cib radio stations of the latest modification. The new PRESIDENT product range gives you access to highly efficient electronic communications. Through the use of new technologies guaranteeing high levels quality, your PRESIDENT JOHNNY II ASC radio station is the right choice among the most popular CB radio stations, recognized by professional CB users. In order to fully appreciate all its capabilities, we advise you to carefully read this instruction manual before using your CB PRESIDENT JOHNNY II ASC

A) INSTALLATION:

1) WHERE AND HOW TO INSTALL YOUR CIB RADIO STATION:

a)Choose the most convenient place to use your radio station.

GENERAL INSTALLATION DIAGRAM

b) Install it so that it does not obstruct the driver and passengers of the vehicle.

v)It is necessary to anticipate the exit and safety of the cables (power, antenna, accessories ...) so that they do not interfere with the control of the vehicle.

G)For installation, use the fasteners ( 1) supplied with the radio, fix it firmly with the mounting bolts ( 2 ), which are also supplied in packaging (drilling diameter 3.2 mm). In doing so, do not damage the electrical system of the vehicle.

e)Choose a location for the microphone arm and arrange for the cord to pass through:

- NOTE:Having a plug socket on the front side, your CB radio can be built into the cockpit panel. In this case, it is recommended to connect a loudspeaker to it to better sound(EXT. SP connector located on the back of the radio: WITH). Consult your nearest distributor regarding the installation of your radio station.

2) ANTENNA INSTALLATION:

a) Antenna selection:

When using CIB, it is important to know that the larger the antenna, the greater the coverage range. Your salesperson will be able to help you with your choice.

b) Automotive antenna:

It should be installed on the part of the vehicle where there is a metal coating (mass), away from the windshield and rear window.

If a radiotelephone antenna is already installed on the vehicle, the CIB antenna must be one level higher.

- There are two types of antennas: regulated and adjustable

- Adjusted antennas are most often used in conjunction with good weight (upper body or trunk)

Adjustable antennas are less sensitive and can be used with less significant masses (see page 7 § 5 SWR ADJUSTMENT).

For an antenna that is installed in a drilled hole, it is very important to have excellent antenna / ground contact; to do this, erase a little of the body covering at the level of the bolt and fixing.

While pulling the cord, make sure that it is not too pinched or crushed (risk of breaking and short-circuiting).

Turn on the antenna (connector V).

v) Fixed antenna:

- It is recommended to install it in an unoccupied place. If the installation is to be carried out on a mast, you must attach the antenna in accordance with applicable law (ask distributor for information). The antennas and accessories that our company supplies are designed for optimal performance in each radio range.

3) POWER SUPPLY CONNECTION:

Your radio station PRESIDENT JOHNNY II ASC equipped with protection against polarity reversal. However, before switching on, make sure the connection is correct.

Current consumption at constant voltage Your radio station is 12 V. ( A). Today, most cars and trucks run on negative mass. This can be verified by making sure the (-) battery is connected to the motor unit or chassis. Otherwise, consult your dealer.

ATTENTION:Trucks usually have two batteries and a 24 V electrical unit. Therefore, a 24/12 V convector (PRESIDENT CV 24/12 model) must be added to the electrical circuit.

All of the following power-up operations must be performed without connecting the power cord to the radio:

a)Make sure the power is 12V.

b)Find the (+) and (-) battery (+ = red, - = black). If you need to extend the power cord, use a similar or thicker cord.

G)Connect red wire to (+) and black wire to (-) battery.

e)Connect the power cord to the radio.

4) BASIC INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE BEFORE THE FIRST USE, WITHOUT BOOKING TO THE MESSAGE (that is, without pressing the microphone button):

A) Connect the microphone,

B) Check if the antenna is connected correctly,

C) Turn on the radio: turn the VOLUME knob clockwise.

D) Rotate the SQUELCH knob to the minimum position (counterclockwise). Adjust the VOLUME knob to the level that suits you best.

E) Switch the radio to channel 20 using the knob located on the front side.

5) SWR-METER ADJUSTMENT (Standing Wave Ratio)

ATTENTION:this is the setting to be made when using the radio for the first time or when replacing the antenna. It should be done in a free and open place.

* Adjustment with a separate SWR meter (model PRESIDENT KSV-1 or KSV-2):

a) Switching on the SWR meter

Connect the SWR meter between the radio and the antenna, as close to the radio as possible (use a PRESIDENT CA-2C 40 cm cord).

b) Setting the SWR meter:

Switch the radio to channel 20,

Move SWR meter switch to CAL or FWD position

Press the microphone button to enter the voice message transmission mode

Move the arrow to the pointer using the calibration button

Move the switch to the SWR position (SWR meter reading). The reading that appears on the sensor should be close to 1. Otherwise, adjust your antenna until the reading is close to 1 (a SWR meter between 1 and 1.8 is allowed).

You need to adjust the SWR meter after every antenna tune.

Your radio is now ready to use.

B) USE:

1) ON / OFF - VOLUME

a) In order to turn on your radio station, turn the knob ( 1 ) clockwise.

b) To increase the volume, keep turning this knob clockwise.

2) ASC (A and tomatic Squelch Control) / SQELCH ( Squelch )

This function allows you to remove clutter without transmitting a message. The noise suppressor does not play a role for the loudness, nor for the transmission power of the message, but it can significantly improve the reception comfort.

a) ASC: AUTO ADJUSTED NOISE CANCEL

International patent, PRESIDENT exclusivity

No manual adjustment with every use and constant optimization between sensitivity and listening comfort when the ASC is active (completely counterclockwise). It can be turned off by turning the knob ( 2 ) clockwise. In this case, the squelch setting becomes manual.

b) MANUAL NOISE REDUCER

Turn the squelch knob clockwise until all internal noise is gone. This adjustment must be carried out with precision, as, having reached the maximum position, only the strongest noises can be heard, and the reception range will decrease.

3) RF GAIN:

Adjustment of the sensitivity of receiving a message. Must be in maximum position for long distance acquisition. You can reduce RF GAIN in order to avoid interference when the receiver is nearby. It is necessary to reduce RF GAIN when transmitting a message over a short distance in case the receiver is not equipped with RF POWER.

The normal position of this function is maximum clockwise.

4) CHANNEL SELECTOR: on the front

Toggling this knob will give you the ability to select the receive or transmit channel (1 to 40).

5) DISPLAY:

It shows all the functions:

The BARGRAPH function shows the reception level and the output power level. The TX sensor lights up when it enters transmit mode.

6) SELECTING A FREQUENCY BAND:

The frequency bands should be used depending on the country where your radio operates. Do not use any other configuration. Some countries require a license to use.
