How to get all tabs back to chrome. Recovering tabs in google chrome. Visual bookmarks to help

Everyone, probably, had such cases when he worked on the Internet, and then, as luck would have it, the light was turned off or something else that led to a crash from the browser.

Do not despair, there are several options to save yourself from such troubles or to solve them if they have already occurred.

How to Recover Closed Tabs in Chrome on PC

One of the browsers we use frequently is Chrome. And this article will focus on him. So, the easiest solution to the problem is the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + T .

Each time you press these buttons, you will open one tab at a time in the order in which they were closed. By the way, I must say that only the last 10 open tabs are saved in Chrome. But I think no one else needs it.

The second method is that in the browser settings you go to history, where you can see all the sites that you have visited before. You can go to any desired one with one click.

Chrome also offers to open multiple tabs if you click on Recently Closed in History. The history of visits can also be called up by writing in the Chrome address bar: // history or using the combination Ctrl + H .

If you want to open several tabs at once, then in the "History" click on the line labeled "Tabs: 5".

Instead of 5, there may be another number indicating the number of windows to be opened.

Using the context menu, you can also solve the problem that has arisen. Right-click on an empty space in the tabbed panel. A list will appear in which you should select the "Open closed tab" function.

The creators of Chrome have also come up with various add-ons that help in solving problems related to unexpected browser closings. In the Chrome store, search for Session Buddy and install the proposed extension for free.

It saves your last session with two clicks: 1 - the icon in the top panel, 2 - the Save button. Everything is easy and simple.

Among other things, you can adjust the recovery process in the browser settings. To do this, in the "Settings" section, find the inscription "Open at startup" and mark the item "Previously opened tabs".

After completing this operation, you can be calm, because now the next time you enter Google Chrome, all the sites that you visited before closing the browser will open.

When the PC freezes, chances are that recent visits are not being saved in Google Chrome history. In this case, you will have to manually restore the tabs. The main thing is not to enter the browser until the end of the restore operation. So, to begin with, go to "My Computer", where in the top panel, click on the item "Arrange".

The following actions: Folder options → View → Hidden files and folders → Show. After that, go to drive C and open the following directories in order: Users → User (or your computer name) → App Data → Local → Google → Chrome → Default.

Here you will find the file Current Session, which should be deleted, replacing it with a copy of the Last Session folder, previously renamed Current Session.

Restore Chrome tabs on your phone

There is a method to instantly restore a Google Chrome tab, but only the last one. To do this, close one of the active windows. When it disappears, you will see the inscription "Cancel", by clicking on which, you will reopen the site where you just were.

To recover several recent visits, other methods are required:

  1. We go to the start page of Chrome, where we click on the image of the clock located below. As a result, we will see all sessions.
  2. Click on the button in the form of three dots located one above the other. In the list that appears, click on the "Recent Tabs" item. The advantage of this method is that it is possible to restore tabs closed from the computer. This is possible if Google Account sync is enabled.
  3. Using the same pop-up list, you can go to the history of visits. There you can restore a site of any age, unless, of course, cleaning was carried out.

Here are, in principle, all the necessary instructions for those who do not know how to restore closed tabs in chrome. Also use the ability to sync your profile. This will help preserve all of your Chrome data, so you never have any problems losing the information you need.

When browsing sites in a browser, many bookmarks are often opened. Sometimes you close one of them, and after a minute you realize that it was done in vain and you should open it again. How do I do this in Chrome?

There are several ways at once, but they are all very inconvenient. I will tell you about each of them, and then I will share my solution to the problem, which I have been using for many years.

Method 1 (most inconvenient)

On the browser tab bar, right-click and select "Open closed tab" in the menu that opens.

This will open the most recent closed tab. Repeat this process to reopen the other tabs in the order you closed them, replaying your browsing history.

The keyboard shortcut for this method: Ctrl + Shift + T

Method 2 (long-term)

Click on the three vertical dots in the upper right corner of Chrome and hover over the "History" option.

Then select the required page in the Recently Closed list. There are only eight of them on the list. To see the rest, you need to go to the full History of Chrome, using the shortcut Ctrl + H.

Agree, it's inconvenient - you have to do too many body movements.

Method 3 (effective)

Since the standard browser tools do not allow you to work effectively with tabs, you will have to use the Chrome app store. At one time, I tried a lot of plugins and chose, in my opinion, the best one. You can install it using this link.

After installing it, you will find an icon with a blue arrow on the plugins panel (it can be placed anywhere, but most conveniently right after the address window). Click on it and you will see a large list of closed tabs.

This extension even has some settings:

You can change the font size, set hotkeys, set up search and synchronization.

Someone might rightly point out that there are other similar apps in the Chrome Store, so why is it better than others? There is a difference, and it is fundamental, at least for me.

Suppose you watched some YouTube video, then followed the link to Rolik2, Rolik3, Rolik4 and closed the tab. When you restore it by means of Chrome itself, only the last video (Video4) opened in the tab will open without the possibility of returning to all previous ones.

But the above extension allows you to open any closed tab and use the Forward and Back arrows to navigate through all the pages viewed in it, reproducing the browsing history. Agree, it's very convenient and useful!

I have been using this extension for many years, it never crashes or freezes. In general, I highly recommend it to everyone who appreciates a comfortable work in the Internet.

By restoring Google Chrome, users can mean many different actions. Often we are talking about recovering data and accidentally closed tabs, sometimes this means fixing problems and malfunctions of the program caused by the actions of malicious scripts or reinstalling the browser after uninstalling. You can open any of them with a simple click.

If during your work in Google Chrome the program freezes, then the information may not have time to be saved in the history of visits. The essence of the service is quite simple - you register and log in to the system, after which all your settings are saved on the Google server. In order to use the service, you need to register a Google mailbox. To do this, follow the instructions:

Removing incorrect Google Chrome

Using Google Chrome, it is very difficult to lose access to your favorite bookmarks, because, thanks to the connection of our Google account, we can synchronize all data with Google servers, and always have access to our passwords, history of use, bookmarks on website pages ...

However, sometimes it happens that we lose loved ones ... usually because we forgot to quit Chrome when we were using someone else's computer, or formatted the computer's disk, or uninstalled Chrome, or whatever ...

Today we will talk about how to restore bookmarks in Google Chrome. It is not easy to restore bookmarks, so you should always pay attention to where you are doing it when logging into the system. You should know that Chrome saves bookmarks to a file called bookmarks, without the json extension, that is, it can be read with a regular notepad.

The browser periodically creates a backup copy of this file with the extension .bak... Usually this copy is created when Google Chrome is completely closed ...

Restore Chrome Bookmarks

We assume that our file bookmark.bak contains favorite bookmarks that are no longer in Chrome.

Depending on the operating system we are using, we need to find the file bookmarks.bak in the folders below:

  • Windows 7 / Windows 8 / Windows 10:% LOCALAPPDATA% \ Google \ Chrome \ User Data \
  • Mac: ~ / Library / Application Support / Google / Chrome /
  • Linux: ~ / .config / google-chrome /

In this folder, you should find a subfolder Default and all folders ProfilN, where N- an integer. Try to figure out which of these folders is associated with your Google Chrome profile. If you are the only browser user, then open the Default folder.

Usually in this folder you will find a file named Google Profile Picture.png to help you identify the profile associated with this folder.

Here you will find the file bookmarks and the file bookmarks.bak:

  • Copy both files to your desktop
  • Open both files in standard notepad and check the contents. Thus, you can check how many and which bookmarks are contained in the file ...
  • If it seems to you that in bookmarks.bak many of your deleted bookmarks are present, then use it to recover.

If the file bookmarks.bak contains all or some of the deleted bookmarks, to restore, follow these steps:

  • Delete the file bookmarks from the desktop. We only needed it to check its content.
  • Rename the file bookmarks.bak copied to your desktop by deleting .bak.
  • Copy the resulting file bookmarks from the desktop to the Chrome profile folder you opened earlier.
