Vpn chrome extension. Review of Free VPN Extensions for Google Chrome Browser

Greetings to all readers of my blog, today I will tell you how to install a VPN extension for Google Chrome. This becomes very important if a torrent tracker or another favorite site that has been blocked has stopped opening.

You go to your favorite site, and there, instead of the usual menu, there is an inscription that it is blocked by the decision of any state supervisory body. This happens, as a rule, throughout the territory of Russia. Your location in this case is determined by the ip-address, so you get into the blocking list and cannot access the resource.

There is no need to get upset, these locks can be easily bypassed by masking your IP address, thereby creating a secure connection. Additionally, these measures allow you to increase the level of privacy when surfing the Internet. To create anonymity on the Internet, a VPN is used, which is absolutely free and available in the extension repository for Google.

detailed instructions

  • First, open our browser.
  • Opposite the terms of the address on the right side, look for the settings icon and click on it with the mouse.

  • A context menu will open, where you need to find the line Additional tools. We click on it once with the mouse.

  • In the window that opens, on the left side, find the Extensions line and click on it.

  • A list of already installed extensions will open, in order to install a new one, we need to find the line More extensions at the very bottom and click on it.

  • The Google repository will open, where the Search bar is located on the top left, enter browsec vpn into it and press Enter.

  • The screen will refresh and we will be offered a list of extensions, select the one you need and click the Install button.

  • To integrate into our browser, click Install extension.

  • After installation, an extension icon will appear on the right side of the address bar. To configure, click on it with the mouse.

  • To activate, click on the button in the lower right part of the screen, after which the extension will start working.

  • After activation, it will be possible to change the country whose ip-address will be used when surfing the Internet.

  • To select the required country, just click on its name and select the one you need from the list provided. Four countries are available for free - the Netherlands, Singapore, the United Kingdom and the United States of America. If these countries do not suit you, you can subscribe to a premium subscription and get a large list of countries.

By installing a VPN for Google Chrome, you can easily visit any sites on the Internet, while maintaining anonymity. The extension presented in the article is completely free, although it has a commercial side. There are 4 countries to choose from for free use, but the speed on them is artificially limited. To remove a block from expansion options, you will need to purchase the full version if desired. However, from experience I can say that everything works great and with these settings and the speed provided is sufficient for comfortable Internet surfing.

Installing this extension is useful in cases when you, for any reason, need to quickly change your IP. For example, if you needed access to a resource where it was blocked at the address of your network. It doesn't matter if it is a block at the initial level or a global (territorial) one, this expansion will help bypass all obstacles. It can also be used for security purposes, but that's another story, about which I might make a separate blog post.

If you have your own extensions - tell us about them in the comments and share with other readers.

Hello, friends! If you often visited certain sites, and one day it was not possible to go to the page, because access to it was blocked, then let's figure out what you can do about it. Of course, any blockage can be bypassed. And in this case, this is done by installing a suitable VPN extension in the Google Chrome browser.

What is VPN Is a Virtual Private Network or Virtual Private Network. The extension installed in the browser will change your real IP-address, which is used on the network, to some other one.

For example, Vkontakte has been blocked on the territory of your country. We turn on the work of the VPN extension and select any country from the proposed list. Now you enter Vkontakt not from Russia, but, for example, from Canada. That is, you do not enter the blocked page directly, but through a server located in another country selected by you from the list.

In this article, we will look at popular VPN extensions that can be installed in the Google Chrome browser, and in which you do not need to go through the registration procedure. A detailed article about that can be read by clicking on the link.

Hola

Let's start with the popular Hola VPN extension among users (it's really popular as it has almost 9 million users). Install it in your browser from the Chrome Web Store. It is completely called Unlimited Free VPN - Hola.

The add-on is free, does not require registration, and there are no traffic restrictions either.

After installation, go to the blocked site and click on the extension icon in the upper right corner of the browser - a gray light. In the menu that opens, press the power button.

After that, select the server in which country you would like to connect. Click on the arrow next to the flag and select, for example, Great Britain.

A new tab will open like this. Close it and return to the blocked site. Refresh your browser page - either click on the circular arrow to the left of the address bar, or press F5. The site should now be accessible.

If you need to change the language in an extension, click on the three horizontal stripes in the extension window. Then click on the first line in the menu that opens and select the appropriate language from the list. You can close the menu by clicking on the cross.

To turn off Hola VPN, click on the shutdown button in its window.

Another completely free VPN extension for Chrome is friGate. Its peculiarity is that it will work only on those sites that are indicated in the corresponding list. The developers have made an approximate list of frequently visited blocked sites. But if the site you need is not in the global list, and access to it is denied, the user can create his own list and add the necessary site addresses to it.

So, you went to a page on the Internet, and it is blocked, although friGate in Chrome is enabled and working. This means that you need to add this address to your own extension list through the settings.

Right-click on the extension's icon and select Options from the menu.

After that, a new tab will open. In the section "Configuring the list of sites" there will be a folder "friGate", in which you can see on which sites this add-on will be enabled. Our address is not in this list, so we create our own list.

In the field provided, enter a name and click "Add list".

Now you need to go to the created folder - click on its name.

A little below, all addresses added to the list will be shown. The green enable button opposite the site means that friGate will work when you go to the specified address.

When you add the desired address to the list, you can go back to viewing the blocked site - access should appear.

On the browser page, where friGate will be enabled, there will be a small extension window in the upper right, where you can see which country you are visiting from. Create your own lists and visit your favorite sites on the Internet without any restrictions.

Consider also a free VPN Hotspot Shield proxy server. This add-on also has a paid version, in which the user will have more countries to choose from, which servers can be connected to. But for general use, the free option is fine too. You do not need to register and the traffic is not limited.

Open the blocked site and click on the extension icon - if it is red, then it does not work on this page. Then select "Continue as free user".

Then click on the power button to connect to another country's server.

The icon will turn green, which means that VPN mode on this page is enabled.

Hotspot Shield selects the default location. To change the country, click on this button.

Then select from the list which country server you want to connect to. If there is a lock opposite the flag, then the country is not available in the free version. By clicking on the "More" button, you can see the list in full.

Touch VPN

And the last VPN extension for Google Chrome, which I will talk about in this list, is Free Proxy to Unblock any sites | Touch VPN. It is very simple to work with it, it is free and is enabled only on blocked sites or on all that you visit (it all depends on how you set it up).

Go to the blocked page and wait for the message "Unable to access the site" appears. Then click on the extension's icon - if it is orange, then it is in a disabled state.

In the extension window in the "Browse" section, you can leave "All sites" as it is. Then Touch VPN will be enabled on all sites you browse. Or you can choose from the list the address of the site you want to go to. Then the extension will only work on this site.

After that, select your country in the line below and click the "Click to Connect" button.

When you connect to the server of the selected country, the extension icon will turn green and the page will load. To disable VPN on this site, click in the "Click to Disconnect" extension window.

Of course, there are many more VPN extensions in Chrome that can be used to access a blocked site. Of the ones reviewed in the article, I liked the friGate Light and Touch VPN extensions the most. If you used something else, you can write about these extensions in the comments.

Private virtual networks are becoming more and more popular every day. Their functionality is used by tens of thousands of users: from companies or organizations that want to provide functionality for their remote workers, or users who are trying to bypass regional restrictions.

More recently, Opera decided to provide all its users with a free VPN inside the browser. If you are a Google Chrome user, you will probably also want to use something similar in your favorite browser.

There are tons of paid VPN options online, but there are also some really great free options for Chrome users to choose from. In this article, we'll walk you through six of the best VPN solutions for the Google Chrome browser.

Note: If you are using a VPN hoping to gain access to Netflix or BBC iPlayer, then you need to warn that these services and many others block access for VPN addresses.

DotVPN

DotVPN has been around since 2014 and continues to gain momentum. The service already has over 800,000 users according to the Chrome Web Store. It has over 6,500 user reviews that add up to a four-star rating.

  • Unlimited bandwidth.
  • Twelve virtual locations (Canada, Germany, France, Japan, Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, Russia, United States of America, England.
  • Unlimited switching between locations.

The developers also tried to provide improved protection, as this service uses 4096-bit key encryption, which is twice as good as modern banking standards.

ZenMate VPN

ZenMate VPN markets itself as a “cyber security solution”. They have at their disposal a network of highly secure proxy servers that encrypt your information and protect you from malicious sites.

ZenMate VPN service can be roughly divided into three components: Internet privacy, Wi-Fi protection and unlimited Internet access. Your privacy will keep trackers of banner ads, web analytics and social networks away from you while you surf the net. On the Wi-Fi side, you get multiple layers of protection when you're on unsecured public networks. Finally, with unlimited internet access, you can bypass geo-blocking.

ZenMate VPN also provides premium services that improve speed, add additional locations and provide 24/7 support. Available at $ 8 per month. So if you want to get the most out of this service, then be prepared to pay a relatively small amount.

Hotspot shield

Hotspot Shield is a relatively new player on the field. It should be pointed out right away that this resource is operated by Anchor Free, which is considered the most reliable company in the industry. Fun Facts: Anchor Free has over 10 years of experience with over 400 million downloads via a variety of apps, and has over 20 million active users in 190 countries.

Hotspot Shield services are free and unlimited, and there is also a version for iOS, Android, Windows Phone, OS X and Windows. As you can see, there is a fairly wide range of platforms, which is good news.

Just like ZenMate VPN, this service has a premium subscription that starts at $ 2.08 and up, depending on the length of the subscription.

CyberGhost VPN

CyberGhost VPN is another provider that puts more emphasis on privacy and security than geo-blocking. According to their website, the service is responsible for blocking nearly 150 million ad units, 200,000 malicious websites, and 260 million attempts to track user activity.

Its best features include:

  • Incredibly easy to use: just one click on the on / off button.
  • Protection against hackers, cyber fraud, bank theft and email fraud.
  • Anonymous and ad-free web surfing.
  • Fight against geo-blocking around the world.
  • Protection from sites with malicious content.
  • Data compression for mobile hotspots.
  • Forced HTTP connections where possible.

The premium account is available for $ 3.79 per month.

Browsec VPN

Browsec VPN claims to be an improved counterpart to ZenMate, Stealthy and Hola. Its main advantages are allowing its users to access any site from anywhere in the world, improving the online privacy of users and protecting their personal data from various offenders.

The service takes a big step towards unblocking content from geo-blocking, but instead of opening sites like the BBC or Netflix, it unblocks Spotify, Pandora and SoundCloud, which are completely blocked in some regions.

TunnelBear VPN

Of all the services reviewed in our article, TunnelBear VPN is one of the best. Seventeen thousand reviews, which add up to a five-star rating. Instead of just being a VPN, this service actually encrypts a proxy.

TunnelBear has been around for years and has made a name for itself as a great product for Windows and Mac. If you've been even a little interested in the VPN topic, then you've definitely heard of TunnelBear at least out of the way.

There is one big difference between the Chrome extension and the TunnelBear app you install - the Chrome extension only encrypts your browser traffic, while the TunnelBear app encrypts 100 percent of your data.

TunnelBear provides users with the fastest VPN speeds of any VPN on our list, and its servers are available in 20 countries around the world.

In order to bypass blocking sites for a specific region, you can use VPN.

Today, there are many options for extensions for all possible browsers, be it Opera, Mozilla or.

All of them allow you to bypass unpleasant and burdensome prohibitions.

In our article, you can read about the 5 best utilities for using this technology.

Content:

This technology independently creates a secure connection and does not require any specific knowledge from the user.

It allows you to change your IP address, making the real one inaccessible to others, which makes it possible to bypass bans and part-time makes your online experience more reliable.

We have prepared a list of the top five that will help you deal with this system.

TunnelBear

The TunnelBear service is the most famous and popular among those that correct virtual addresses.

It provides surfing, already tested and appreciated by millions of people, which is characterized by a high level of safety and reliability.

As you know, it lowers the speed of work, which obviously will not happen if you choose this utility.

Its creators provide their users with free 750 MB traffic, which is very difficult to track.

Please note: if you want to increase traffic, you can take advantage of PR service. Place on your page a link to the service, and the volume for you will be increased.

It successfully makes it possible to use the servers of more than fifteen countries, including:

  • USA;
  • Great Britain ;
  • Canada;
  • Germany;
  • Japan;
  • Switzerland ;
  • France;
  • Italy;
  • The Netherlands;
  • Italy;
  • Spain.

In addition, he is cross-platform, that is, problems with it will not arise both when working with the Windows operating system, or with any other, similar to Unix or.

An equally popular service that has also developed its own add-on for Chrome. It has several versions of the work, among which are free, paid and even PRO status.

Even registration is not required in the free-of-charge mode of operation. However, as you would expect, the services are limited.

Only servers of the USA, Canada, France and the Netherlands are available for use, which may not be convenient for everyone.

But at the same time, without even making a cent to the account of the creators, you get an unlimited amount of traffic and the complete absence of any advertising, both embedded and pop-up.

Paid access will give you a wide choice of localization around the world and will automatically connect the one that is more profitable geographically.

It also stores the session history and is available for use in.

Hola

At first glance, the service is no different from other services on our list. It also has access to the same 15 countries.

Both paid and free versions are provided. Advertising is completely absent.

However, in fact, it works on a completely different technology, which for its insolence regularly causes discontent on the part of ardent defenders of consumer rights on the Internet.

The service allows other users who also use this utility to pass through, which makes it possible pretty much.

Many oppose this technology, but the creators themselves have repeatedly stated that the information is not endangered.

They are encrypted and therefore the transmission channels remain completely reliable.

Touch

All high-quality services are paid or include a trial version, which gives access to services without paying for them for a period from several days to one month.

But the creators decided to break this rule and made their creation free for everyone, removing the need to pay.

The program has a connection only with the servers of Denmark, USA, France and Canada, but also for excellent functioning quite enough.

Please note: the speed of information transfer directly depends on how many people are now at the place you have chosen. of the aforementioned, it is distinguished by the obligatory registration, but it will not take much time, so this should not be off-putting.

Moreover, after it, one of the leading technologies will become available to you, which ensures complete anonymity on the network.

The service will successfully bypass any prohibitions from state bodies, and from the owners of sites and web pages themselves. The development has the following positive aspects:

  • easy and quick installation;
  • accelerated information exchange process;
  • encryption at one of the highest levels;
  • complete confidentiality online ;
  • independent customization based on your location;
  • exclusion of any attempts not to let you in to the information of interest.

The application will allow you to see without imposed censorship, regardless of the time of day and place of residence.

Today I would like to touch on the topic of specialized browser extensions Google chrome.

It is hardly possible to surprise anyone with the blocking of certain Internet resources. However, any problem always gives rise to a corresponding solution. You probably know that there are specialized resources and applications that can effectively bypass various online bans. In this article, you will discover the best free VPN-extensions.

TunnelBear VPN

A fairly popular VPN service that successfully combines speed and excellent anonymity. In the arsenal of the expansion, there are 15 servers that hide your real location.

To start using TunnelBear, you need to download a special proprietary application on your PC and create your personal account in it. After registration is complete, you will be provided with 750 MB of traffic for a month. Not a lot, but better than nothing.

An excellent VPN, which, however, is not devoid of some paid services. Interestingly, the extension does not require you to go through the registration procedure. It should be noted that the free version of the service has a limited set of servers. If you cannot do without a high-speed connection, then a paid expansion option will come to your rescue.

Completely free VPN that gives you complete freedom in terms of traffic consumption. There are 15 different servers available for connection. Note that the extension is based on the principle of peer-to-peer service. This means that all devices connected to the system are involved in the traffic exchange process.

Another good VPN extension. The main disadvantage of Touch VPN is the small number of available servers (4 pieces). It is also worth noting that the speed of data exchange in the service directly depends on the number of users using your server at the moment.

To work with the service, you should go through a simple registration procedure. After authorization is complete, you will become the proud owner of a completely free VPN with unlimited traffic. Tell me, what else does an ordinary Internet user need to be happy? Among the key extension options, you can also highlight the automatic activation of a secure connection when opening certain resources.

Runet blocking bypass

Recently I have been using this particular anonymizer. Lightweight, simple, free, no traffic restrictions. It is possible to work in automatic mode by clicking and forgetting.
