Over time, Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus and flagship Galaxy Tab 7.7 brought to the market. The end of May was marked by the appearance of the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 model on the SIS expanses, which can be considered an intermediate link between budget plates and flagship proposals.

If the first Tab with the 3G module cost the transcendental order of 27-28 thousand, then the current model with the 3G module will cost no more than 13 thousand. Samsung explains such a radical decline in the cost of the fact that in 2010 she just started running the production of tablets. And as a result, it was forced to carry large costs of production. However, this comment does not carry a special value in the light of the fact that the claimed price is normal (i.e. competitive) for a 7-inch tablet PC with TAB 2 characteristics.

Design

Brassing a memorable appearance Tab 2 cannot. In our opinion, the exterior of the tablet turned out to be too lightless - there is nothing to catch a look. However, and falling over on the other side, nothing to do, we are dealing with a thin profile and small stylish buttons.



Right over the screen in the center there is a small dynamics grid. It meets in the former models of the line. It looks like this decision is not entirely successful, as a priori causes an association with a large phone. Apparently, Samsung implies the use of a tablet as a complete replacement of a smartphone or a regular phone, but does not quite understand the relevance of finding a 7-inch apparatus in the ear. For the sake of justice, we note that the "ordinary" speakers have the apparatus.



However, we will not find times and take the tablet in hand. In the palms, the impression of the model is dramatically improved, which contributes to more than an acceptable weight of 345 grams. In any case, even the girls should not have problems with holding Tab 2 7.0 with one hand. The small thickness of the case is accompanied by the lack of clear straight corners on the sides. Therefore, discomfort from the body resting in the palm is not felt, giving way to ergonomic execution.





Considering the quality of execution, it should be noted that we have a pre-sales sample of the tablet. Apparently, therefore, the slits were clearly visible between the housing and the lid in the corners between the case and the lid. In the commercial versions of Tab 2, they are removed. However, with similar confidence, we cannot argue that Samsung also eliminated a slight, but completely tangible deflection of the back cover. After the tested, whom the same problem was slightly more pronounced, from Samsung wanted to get a more worthy answer.



Materials of execution are another controversial moment. If the glass of the face panel does not cause complaints, then the plastic of the lid looks, and it is not felt too presentable.

Tablet provided us with a soft cover from Dermantine. Is it possible to find such on sale, we do not know how the tablet is still very new. But we believe it will be worth it within a thousand rubles.

Connectors and controls

After Google released Android 3.x, it was possible to practically unmistakably determine which version of the system is installed on the tablet. The budget adherents of Android 2.2 / 2.3 continued to demonstrate a number of sensory buttons under the screen, and Android 3.x possesses were deprived of them. In Android 4.0, an approach has been preserved with the presence of all the optional buttons on the system panel, so no buttons are observed on the front panel Tab 2.





Instead, at the top of the center there is already a mentioned speaker, clicted with a small grid, as well as lighting sensors and distances. Only the manufacturer name is only applied.





On the left side there are connectors for a microSD memory card and SIM cards. Our attempt to establish a SIM card was defeated - she successfully failed inside and strongly recommended contacting the service center. By the way, all connectors contain plugs that there is a very useful point - where the tablet was not stored, dust and dirt will not be clogged into the connectors.



At the right end there was a place for dual keys to control the level of volume and turn on / off buttons. They are raised over the case, comfortably arranged under the index finger and are pressed without difficulty.



On the upper end there is only a yield of 3.5 mm for a headset or headphones.



The lower part of the tablet is interesting for the presence of speakers on both sides. Note that they give out a good volume and sound quality, as far as possible is possible for tablet form factor. The center has a 30-pin connector for connecting to a computer or communication with the charger.



On the back cover, we see only the inscription Samsung and chamber eye in the upper left corner. In the course, we note that the flash of Tab 2 is missing.

In our case, the tablet entered the testing "as is", so I did not have the opportunity to get acquainted with his full package.

Screen

The 7-inch display offers a resolution of 1024x600 points, which now becomes more or less standard for such a diagonal instead of morally outdated 800x480 pixels. Pixel density is 169 dpi. Of course, the display capacitive, with multitouch support and up to 10 simultaneous touchs inclusive. Samsung's arsenal screens allows you to maneuvering depending on the cost of the tablet. In terms of its properties, it seemed to us practically not distinguish between IPS variations. However, it was not without both positive and negative features. An unpleasant surprise was the absence of a fairly deep black color, which is especially noticeable in films with dark scenes. However, the measured contrast was 947: 1, which is not so bad. But as compensation is the overall excellent display brightness. At first, we even seemed to us that the value was set to the maximum, but no - the slider was only on half of the line. Accordingly, in the sun, the color image is well distinguishable. The brightness of the white point at the screen is 388 kD / m2 - the indicator is above average.

At the same time, it is worth a cloth in advance to a cloth to wipe the glass coating that quickly collects fingerprints. Tab 2 viewing angles - the next specific "highlight" of the tablet. They are large enough, but even with a small deviation and vertically, the horizontal begins to appeal the barely noticeable gray "film".

Camera

After a depressing set of settings, the quality of the pictures obtained was surprisingly acceptable. Before we got acquainted with the characteristics of the tablet, it seems that a 5 megapixel camera is installed in the model. In any case, in the absence of the "Soaps" Tab 2 at hand, the Tab 2 will become not the worst replacement for shooting.





The rear camera cost without surprises, it was especially sensitive to poor lighting.

New Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 will have to compete with relatively inexpensive Chinese solutions like Huawei Mediapad.



The hardware filling looks quite powerful. The dual-core processor managed to become hardly a standard characteristic of the tablets of the average price segment. The number of processor cores by measure of performance on Android has never performed from the moment of the appearance of Tegra 2 due to poor optimization of software and "iron". With the advent of Tegra 3, the situation has changed little.

RAM is present in due volume - 1 GB. 16 GB of data storage space is quite enough for a small multimedia collection, including a pair of HD movies. In addition, you can set a memory card with a volume of up to 32 GB, formed 48 GB of storage.

In terms of wireless networks, TAB 2 full order is supported and the possibility of a conversation in cellular networks, and 3G, and a complete arsenal of 802.11b / g / n. SmartBench 2011 began with an almost crushing difference. Apparently, the test managed to maximize the Multi-core processor of the Samsung tablet, as well as its RAM. Accordingly, superiority 4 times is obvious. The 2012 revision was not so categorical. In general performance, a 4-fold advantage is preserved, but the gaming capabilities are not so noticeable behind. Maybe "graphics" A7 "is not so low?

Software (Android 4)

It is easy to guess that Android 4.0 is installed in the device with Touchwiz add-on. Hurryly to disappoint readers immediately - a dual-core processor as always has not become a pledge of speed. This does not mean that the tablet "slows down". On the contrary, it works pretty quickly, but the ideal did not succeed at which time.

Let's say this - the global difference in comparison with single-core platforms is not felt.
