In the modern world, there are many people who are unfamiliar or little familiar with such a multifunctional and convenient device as a mobile tablet. You can read books on it, listen to music, watch movies, and do it much more comfortably than on a smartphone. To learn how to use a tablet for beginners, or how to teach your grandmother to call relatives on Skype, you will need to read the information below. Here is the minimum initial setup of the device and installation of the necessary applications. Further operation of the device will be intuitive.

Important! Knowing how to use a tablet should start with reading the instructions for the device. The manufacturer clearly shows where the main connection ports are located, where the SIM and memory cards are installed. The instruction manual for any tablet, from a simple Dexp to a sophisticated Samsung, will tell you how to connect the charger and enlighten you about other actions necessary for the normal functioning of the product.

Using a tablet in most cases does not involve replacing the SIM while the device is on. Before any card installation or removal operations, the device must be turned off. Therefore, if it is possible, or if Internet access is supported through the mobile operator’s network, you must:

  • study the operating instructions and find the installation location of the SIM card on the case;
  • check that the device is disabled or turn it off;
  • open the compartment (if necessary) using a special paper clip;
  • pull out the tray and install the SIM in it;
  • insert the tray into place and lock it by pressing.

If the device has already been turned on for testing or does not have a getting started wizard, all system parameters can be configured manually. Even if the original language of the system is Chinese or Japanese.

To switch the language you need get to the settings area. To do this, click the icon that looks like a gear or a square with horizontal sliders drawn on it. This is easy to do using a visual reference, without paying attention to hieroglyphs or English letters.

The next step is to scroll through the settings on the screen, finding icon in the form of the letter A. Here you can change the language to use your Android tablet in Russian. Having selected an item, you need to scroll through the list and find the familiar inscription “Russian” in it. After clicking on it, the tablet will begin to write in clear words and letters.

date and time

You can change the date and time settings by activating the corresponding item in the settings. Here the user is asked to indicate:

  • time;
  • date;
  • Timezone;
  • date display format;
  • time format (12 or 24 hours).

Advice! In tablets that work with SIM cards, setting the correct date and time is as simple as possible. To do this, you just need to activate the “Use network time and date” item. In this case, the remaining parameters become inactive.

You can exit the date and time settings by pressing the Back button, indicated by a left-curved arrow.

Display

Using an Android tablet is much more enjoyable if you adjust the brightness and colors of the display to your liking. This is worth doing, including for . An overly bright display will drain the battery faster and the tablet will have to be charged.

Changing display settings is done in the Screen item of the settings menu. Here you can adjust the backlight brightness and screen resolution. Advanced models will allow you to change color temperature (adjusts shades), saturation, and select one of the standard color gamut schemes.

The most useful option in modern tablets is auto-brightness adjustment.. The mode is activated by the corresponding switch in the settings. The brightness will be automatically adjusted according to the ambient light sensor readings. The screen will reach maximum luminosity on a bright sunny day and will almost go dark at night in a dark room. This will ensure comfort for the eyes and help extend the operation of the device on a single battery charge.

How to get online

Today Wi-Fi networks are familiar even in an apartment or private house. This is the most convenient access to the Internet. To set up a connection to a residential or public network, you should:

  • enter settings;
  • select Network and Internet (or Wireless Networks);
  • enter the Wi-Fi section.

Here you need to touch the screen to activate the Wi-Fi module with the corresponding switch. They'll start right away detect available networks. Once you select the one you need, you will need to enter your password once. The system will remember the data and will be able to automatically access the Internet, connecting to a familiar network.

It is more difficult if the tablet does not support Wi-Fi and only provides operation in 3G (4G LTE) mode. In most cases, the parameters of mobile operator access points are already registered on the SIM card and are detected automatically. To access the Internet you will need:

  • go to settings;
  • select Network and Internet;
  • go to the Mobile network section;
  • select the Access Points item and select the one you need (or leave the one marked based on the SIM card data).

If the list of registered access points is empty, you will need to create one manually.

Advice! You should request the necessary data from the operator. The latter can, after calling the hotline, send an SMS with automatically applied settings.

To start using the mobile Internet, you should go to the settings again. Here you need to find the Data transfer item. It indicates the SIM card and the Mobile Internet option that needs to be activated. Read more about accessing the Internet from a tablet, as well as possible connection problems and ways to solve them.

Installing applications

The main applications needed for the main functionality of the tablet are already on it. This is a browser, proprietary software (if offered by the manufacturer), camera shell, photo gallery, phone, messages and much more. To install your programs or games and use your tablet comfortably and correctly, you should launch PlayMarket. Its icon is usually located on the main screen, accessible after downloading.

To install the program, you need to click on the big green button with the corresponding inscription. The application will download automatically. After the installation process, the Open button becomes available, which is used to launch the program.

Navigation principles

The tablet's navigation buttons work quite simply. To immediately get to the main screen, just press Home, indicated by a house icon or a circle. It is convenient to switch between running applications using the process button. Images of active windows appear on the screen; just click on the one you want.

Back button works as simply as possible. Pressing it takes the user to the previous screen. If there is none, the active application closes or requires confirmation of such an action.

Setting up a brand new tablet or changing the parameters of an already used one to suit your needs is quite simple. Simple steps will allow you to quickly master this convenient mobile assistant. You can even teach your grandmother or parents, who are far from modern technology, to work with such a gadget. A tablet properly configured for working on the Internet will expand communication with friends and family, allow you to use your time more efficiently, provide entertainment, and become an effective working tool.
