Preparation for setting up equipment

However, there are practically no advantages over other devices - it is possible only to access, and the distribution of the network is carried out only in one range (at a speed of about 300 Mbps).

Preparation for configuration

Before connecting the router of any selected type, you must first check its package. Complete to the router should go:

power Supply;
ethernet cable to connect to a wired network (except for options for connecting to the Internet only with mobile technologies);
instructions, warranty and disk with software.

The network cable is connected to the WAN port (less often ADSL, if the connection is carried out via the telephone network).

Another cord is installed by one side in the LAN connector on the same router (you can select any port from LAN1 to LAN4), and the second is in the appropriate RJ45 slot on the computer or laptop network card.

Important: When connecting to the router, two networks from different providers (for example, via WAN and Mobile Communication) is desirable to set another splitter to filter the signal. And you can increase the coating using additional antennas.

Creating an Internet connection

ZTE router management for wired and wireless connectivity is carried out using a special interface, connect to which you can, specifying the address of type 192.168.1.1 in the browser (you can clarify this value in the router passport).

If the device is already connected to the PC, after entering these numbers, a setup window appears on the screen, where it is required:

Enter username and user password. By default, instead of each of them, the word admin is entered (if desired, they can be replaced by any other);

Fill in the field, click on Login;

In the window that opens, select the Network section;

Open the WLAN tab in turn (sometimes you can select it immediately from the list, without switching to the Network tab), and then Basic;

Important: Most often, when you connect the cable, the network is determined automatically. If this did not happen, you may have to update or install the network card drivers. And then configure a new connection.

Now that Wi-Fi is enabled, you can configure the connection itself.

In the WAN Connection menu, PVC0 is selected in the Connection Name line, and the Type Route is installed in the Type line.

If the connection is carried out using 3G / 4G communication, the setting is carried out through another tab - 3G WAN Connection.

Here only the name of the APN access point is selected (you can find it on the provider's website or clarify the company's technical support).

The remaining settings are usually installed automatically.

You should know: depending on the router model, the tab names may differ. For example, the name of the access point is sometimes required to enter on a separate tab of the APN Settings. At the same time, all user actions will be approximately the same.

Additional sections

In addition to setting up a network connection, the ZTE router user has the ability to change other parameters:

for example, in the Multi-SSID section you can make a network and open, and closed;
the connection name changes in the SSIDNAME column;
the maximum number of simultaneously connected devices is set to MaximumClients (most of the models support up to 32 connections at the same time);
in the Enablessid network, the network can be turned on or off;

Configuring ZTE routers is slightly different depending on not only from the device model, but also from the service provider.
