One of the leading Russian mobile operators MTS has long ago launched a bonus program for its customers. Its participants, with each replenishment of their account, received a certain number of points that could be written off for the purchase of additional services.

But the program turned out to be unattractive for customers over time, so it was closed on May 15, 2019, and customers were invited to join a new loyalty club called “MTS Cashback”. Therefore, in the review, we will talk in detail about the personal account of the new program and its advantages.

Previously, in the MTS Bonus account, it was possible to track the balance of accumulated points and spend them on a purchase:

  • additional minutes of conversation or Internet traffic;
  • SMS or MMS;
  • ringtones, games or videos;
  • buying a new gadget.

The new MTS Cashback project allows you to receive up to 50% bonuses from purchases in partner stores of the mobile operator. And the available points can be used to pay for mobile communications to yourself or loved ones, or used as a discount when shopping at MTS stores.

The bonus program was available only to MTS customers. Therefore, existing subscribers of the company could create a personal account. The new MTS Cashback program is available to all residents of the country.

To register, you need to go to the special project website and go to the “About” section in the top menu, and then click on the “Register” button a little lower.

A form for entering your personal account will open, where you need to enter a valid mobile phone number. It doesn't matter which operator it refers to here. Select “Get password via SMS” below.

Repeat the captcha code in the bottom field and proceed to the next step by clicking on the “Next” button.

An SMS message with a short code will be sent to the specified phone number, which must be duplicated in an empty line.

The next step is to enter your email address. It is necessary to restore data in case of loss, and will also be used by the MTS Cashback program to send newsletters.

Check your E-mail - a letter with a short code will be sent to it. It must be repeated in the next step.

Set a new password for your personal account. It must contain Latin letters of different case and numbers. For the sake of confidentiality of information, do not use easy combinations and birthday dates as a code.

At the last step of creating a personal account, a window will appear in which your email address is displayed. Below it is a red “Register” button. Click on it to complete the process.

A welcome message from MTS Cashback will appear. Read it and go to the "Next" button in your personal account.

Due to the fact that the loyalty program is closed, you will not be able to log in to the previous account. But after creating a personal account on the MTS Cashback portal, you can enter it from a special page of the telecom operator.

In the opened form for entering your personal account, you must fill in two fields: login (phone number specified during registration) and password. If you plan to constantly log in from this device, then you can use the service of remembering the input data. To do this, check the box under the “Login” button in the “Remember me” line. Reference! For security purposes, MTS sends an SMS notification to the client about entering the system with each authorization in the account. If you have not logged into your personal account, and the notification has arrived, you need to urgently change your password.

Login with phone number without password

Previously, in the MTS Bonus program, points were awarded for paying for communication services, the Internet, television, or purchases in the MTS store. At the same time, bonuses had a limited lifetime and subscribers constantly had to control the balance and the period of their expiration.

The new MTS Cashback program allows you to earn points only from purchases in partner stores, a list of which is presented on the project page. Their number has already exceeded 640. A distinctive feature of the new program is that now the points do not expire and have an unlimited lifespan.

On the right, a block of the entire affiliate network is displayed, grouped into the following areas:

  1. Internet shops.
  2. Offers from MTS.
  3. Services and services.
  4. Leisure, entertainment.
  5. Trips.
  6. Retail Stores.

Each section has a breakdown into subgroups, which greatly facilitates the search for a retail chain of interest. Partners are displayed on the page in the form of icons, which show information on the accrued cashback as a percentage of the amount paid.

You can also check the amount of accumulated points in your account. To do this, select the “My Account” section in the top menu. Information on the spent amount and available MTS bonuses will appear below.

Nearby is the “Add target” block. Here you can specify the amount of savings you are interested in, which can later be spent as a discount on purchases in MTS stores.

If you are interested in the issue of accrual history, then select the appropriate section on the left. A page will open on which you need to specify the period for viewing information. In addition, you can specify the status of bonuses. Several options are available:

  1. “All”, that is, both currently available and decommissioned are displayed.
  2. “Accrued”, that is, available now.
  3. “Pending” – will soon be credited to your bonus account. The enrollment period is usually 1 business day, but sometimes it can be up to 90 days.
  4. "Rejected". Such points usually include those that were first accrued, but then deducted due to the return of the goods.
  5. “Written off”, that is, used as a cashback.

How to spend bonuses in your account

If you have accumulated a sufficient number of points, then they can be spent as a discount in the following areas:

  1. Payment for cellular communications, Internet traffic, subscriptions and more. The withdrawal is made on the first day of each month.
  2. Top up the personal account of your loved ones who are MTS subscribers.
  3. Pay for the purchase in MTS stores.

Important! When joining the MTS Cashback program, the accumulated bonuses for paying for the operator's cellular communication are automatically written off every month on the 1st day.

To buy goods in MTS stores, you need to set a goal in your personal account. After reaching it, you will need to order the issuance of a certificate. And only upon presentation of it, the employees of the mobile operator's store will make a discount on the purchase of goods.

Certificates are issued in the following denominations: 100, 250, 500, 750, 1,000, 1,500, 2,000, 2,500 rubles. and further with a multiplicity of 500 rubles. The maximum amount can reach 80,000 rubles.

At MTS, the upcoming closure of the bonus program, which was quite popular with customers, was explained by the fact that it had lost its relevance. It is also noted that the company creates and develops new services that are more suitable for current conditions and allow savings. We are talking, in particular, about the MTS Cashback service, which allows you not to pay for communication at all, making the usual purchases on the Web.

There are also convergent offers of the All MTS service, when when connecting fixed-line services, mobile is already provided free of charge. And, finally, it is proposed to issue a bank card "MTS Smart Money": thanks to it, you can get a 100% discount on the fee at your own rate.

“These are simple and understandable ways to get communication discounts that most fully meet modern trends and customer requests,” the press service concluded.

Available bonus points can be spent on mobile communication services (packages of minutes, SMS and mobile Internet), melodies instead of beeps, entertainment (subscriptions to entertainment services) and MTS Library service options.

The bonus program has been operating since the late 2000s. By the way, the company refused to name the exact number of clients who used it, limiting itself to only one phrase: "We do not disclose."

Payment for MTS with Thank You bonuses from Sberbank does not work in 2020 - such a statement is more common than telephone company subscribers would like. Using the bonus program allowed them to save on cellular communications and reduce the cost of communicating with loved ones. But now it is no longer possible to use the accumulated points, no matter what method of replenishment the clients of both organizations adhere to. A similar function is not available in a personal account on the banking portal, and on the website of the mobile operator.

Given the convenience of the system and the sudden disappearance of such an economical and attractive feature, users are interested in answers to several questions at once:

The affiliate program of the two flagships of the Russian telephone and financial markets has been suspended, and therefore it is useless to count on the use of bonuses to pay for calls and mobile services. Subscribers should not waste precious time, it is better to immediately think about choosing alternative options for crediting finances to a SIM card.

MTS stopped accepting "Thank you" from Sberbank in 2020

After making sure that it is impossible to replenish the account using accumulated accruals, you should think about the reasons for the difficulties. If you write and send a corresponding request, both organizations confirm that the payment of MTS with “Thank you” bonuses from Sberbank has been suspended, but not a single institution explains the motives that forced the unpopular decision to be made. But, despite the lack of information and official statements, some conclusions can be drawn. To do this, just look at the list of bank partners working in the field of telephone communications. It is extremely short, and of the large, well-known operators, only Megafon is present in it. But even it does not allow you to transfer money to the balance of a sim card, limited to payments for equipment and accessories. Consequently, depositing funds into the account turns out to be unprofitable and inconvenient for the bank and mobile companies, and therefore it makes no sense to count on a change in the current situation in the near future. It will not be possible to use the privileges received to pay for telephone communications and reduce the cost of communicating with friends and acquaintances.

What to do if MTS does not accept "Thank you" bonuses?

Having considered the main factors hindering the cooperation of the flagships of the Russian banking and telephone sectors and having figured out why MTS does not work with payment with Thank You bonuses from Sberbank, it remains to decide on the most convenient methods for crediting finance to a smartphone. To maintain a balance at a decent level, it is allowed:

  • use a personal account on the MTS portal;
  • use Sberbank-Online, through which you can easily send the required amount to your own account;
  • deposit finances through telephone banking by sending an SMS message with the desired amount to service number 900;
  • turn on auto pay.

I have been using the MTS network as a mobile operator for a very long time, at least 15 years. And all these years I had the same number, which had the MTS Bonus service. During this time, the experience has accumulated, and every month the MTS program awarded me 50 points just for the experience.

I won’t say that a lot of bonuses were accumulated per month, but sometimes it was possible to pay for a package of minutes, SMS or the Internet with bonuses, which was a good help.

All the time the number was registered not to me, but to the next of kin.

They recently re-registered the number in my name, for convenience. For example, when it became necessary to change the SIM card format (for a new phone), I had to drag myself with the same relative, the nominal owner of the number - this is terribly inconvenient.

In general, after re-registration, all my bonuses burned out, everything was reset to zero, and the most annoying thing is that the experience has burned out, now I don’t receive 50 points every month.

They didn't warn about it. It's a shame, since the relative was only formally listed as the owner of the number, and for all 15 years it was only me who was the user - and all the money that passed through the number was mine. This can even be seen by the fact that all transfers went through my registered bank card, where exactly my name is!

By the way, I came to the re-registration procedure with that relative, with passports. I think it was possible to somehow warn about the bonuses on the spot and do something so that they would not burn out. It is possible for a relative to sign something in this regard. But none of this was offered, the entire experience merged into a pipe in a second.

In general, I am very sorry, I am disappointed. I am such a long-time MTS subscriber, the number has never changed, and the operator too ... Therefore, I can’t rate it anymore, and I can’t even talk about the pluses of the program, since this situation blocked everything.

These are all trifles, yes, vanity on a universal scale, but the experience has been accumulating for 15 years! And time cannot be returned. And just like that, everything hop - and dissolved.

I wrote in support of a description of my problem with a request to return the experience - as I expected, I received a dry answer, they say, according to the conditions, when the owner changes, everything burns out and cannot be returned. It is a pity that there were no attempts to reflect on the absurdity of the situation.

I am supplementing the review (May 2019): I found out that now the MTS Bonus program has been completely canceled. It turns out that the points burned out again just like that.

Instead, they offer the MTS Cashback system as an analogue. However, in the cashback service, it is not enough just to use the services of MTS, you just need to make purchases in various stores through the application, and cash back will be credited for these purchases. That is, now there is no bonus for using the services of an operator, so these two services are not analogues in their schemes of action.
