RGSU (Russian State Social University) has been operating since 1991. Applicants from various fields study there, receiving both higher and secondary education. There is a special personal account for students where they can find all the useful and necessary information.

Personal account functionality

The personal account is designed for full-time and part-time students. It allows:

Receive up-to-date data on the educational process.
Use the “electronic record book” function.
Respond promptly to changes in the class schedule and/or location.
Receive news on the discipline you are studying.
Monitor your current progress (this is a very convenient function for parents).
Reduce time wastage by submitting practice papers, tests, and other assignments online.

Registration in the RSSU account

There is no online registration in your personal account. A student can only receive a login and password in person when visiting the dean’s office. The support service, teachers or other employees of the educational institution will not be able to help with this. Everyone’s login and password are individual and it is impossible to change them yourself. It is recommended to save them and not lose them

Authorization in your personal account

If you have a login and password, you can log into your personal account through the RGSU main page. In the upper right corner there is a “Login” link button. An authorization pop-up window immediately opens. After entering the login and password, the student can check the box so that the system remembers the data and does not need to enter it every time. Next, by clicking on the “Login” button, the student enters his account. There is no separate account for parents, so they will have to use the child’s login and password if necessary. If you lose your login and/or password, they can only be restored in person at the dean’s office.

Personal account mobile application

Russian State Social University does not offer a separate mobile application. You can log into your personal account through the browser on your phone.

For students who are already logged into their personal account, a special widget will be available that gives access to the technical support service. In addition, you can contact them via Skype and email. Please note that technical support is not available 24 hours a day. Contact information can be found on your personal account login page.

To fully operate your personal account, you need:

To activate any of the additional functions you just need to click on it. Reset is performed by pressing again or using one button at the bottom “Reset”.

How to disable your RSSU personal account

Your personal account ceases to be relevant after graduation. If you want to delete/close/disable it, you can write a letter by email or paper, with a notification (the second is more reliable), demanding that personal data be removed from your account. In accordance with current legislation, the educational organization is obliged to do this. There is no expectation that all student information will be deleted. It is archived and is still stored for many years (from 15 to 75 years), but it will indeed disappear from public access.

Security and privacy rules

The fact that you can only log into your personal account using a login and password received personally from the dean’s office guarantees high security of personal data. Everything else depends on the applicant. If he does not properly store data, makes it publicly available and/or otherwise makes this information public, there is a high probability that third parties will gain access to his personal account. In such a situation, you must immediately contact technical support and the dean’s office.

If you are watching this video, it means that you have questions about the operation of the distance education system. Now, specifically in practice, we will consider the virtual educational environment of the Russian State Social University (Fig. 1).

To get started, we need to log into the student’s “personal account”, enter the username and password, and get to the main page of the educational platform (Fig. 2).

The first thing we see in the center of the work field is contact information: on questions of admission to the institute, questions related to the organization of training at the Faculty of Distance Learning, and so on.

On the left side of the working field various news information blocks are placed, for example, for full-time students; an information letter that contains a schedule of the educational process (you can follow the active link and view it in more detail).

Just below is the “student registration card” (Fig. 3), namely, the student’s status, effective date, faculty, specialty, form of study, and so on.

At the top of the working field there are various blocks. We will consider the most basic of them and those that directly relate to the learning process.

We move on to the block “my courses” (Fig. 4) and see a list of subjects available for study: “physical education”, “economic theory”, “mathematics”.

Each subject contains a “window”: “educational materials” (Fig. 5) - general provisions for the discipline.

“Practical assignment” (Fig. 6) - the student needs to complete an assignment on the designated topic and then send it to the teacher for checking (essay requirements and title card can be downloaded below).

“Midterm control” (Fig. 7) - you need to compose a dialogue on the topic and send it to the teacher for checking.

“Final control” (Fig. 8) - you need to prepare written answers to questions.

In the “progress” section (Fig. 9) you can see the best result and compare your result with it; in the “announcements” section there will be announcements about the addition of new educational material or information about checking your work.

You can also look at the courses you have already completed, completed, or those you have yet to take.

Consider such a block as “my applications“, you can apply for any course.

The “Dean’s Office” block (Fig. 10) indicates various receipts, documents, and schedules of teachers and classes.

The “knowledge base” block (Fig. 11) contains educational literature; you can use “electronic publications and resources.”

The next block is “Question and Answer” (Fig. 12), here the student’s instructions for working in the LMS and answers to frequently asked questions are indicated.

Russian State Social University (RGSU), founded in 1991, it became the first social university in Russia and the former USSR countries. Its structure includes more than 40 branches in various cities of the Russian Federation, 9 international education centers and 12 faculties. In total, more than one hundred thousand students receive education at higher educational institutions, of which approximately a quarter study in Moscow.

When you go to the student’s Electronic Account, the “Virtual Educational Environment” web resource opens, where distance learning is carried out. To access the services, you must log in with your personal username and password.

One of the activities of RSSU is a distance learning system, thanks to which students (listeners) can receive education using distance educational technologies.

In order to log in to the system, you will need to go to the Internet resource at sdo.rgsu.net, where you should select the “Login” link presented in the upper right corner.

After this, you will be asked to provide a login and password to log into the RGSU system. If necessary, you can check the “Remember” option. You can obtain the login and password required to enter the LMS from a specialist at the Centralized Dean's Office. Technical support specialists do not provide this information. You should also contact the dean's office if you have lost your login and password.

You can contact the technical support service in case of technical problems with logging in if you have a login and password, as well as technical problems with the operation of the distance education system. You can contact specialists by email or Skype; Authorized users also have access to the technical support widget.

To sort out issues related to the organization of training (including the distance learning system), you should contact the educational and methodological work specialists of the Centralized Dean's Office or faculties' supervisors.

After logging into the RSSU LMS, you can go to the “My Courses” tab, where you can select the “Current” tab, and then go to the desired course. By the way, in the same tab you can access past courses that you have already passed, as well as future ones that you can start after some time.

To gain access to the course educational materials, you must go to the “Lesson Plan” tab, and then select the desired lesson. There are three types of classes, including theoretical material, a practical task and a test.

Theoretical material is a pdf or word file. It can also be a training module with a built-in course navigation system. The system automatically assigns a grade for work with theoretical material.

The second type of classes at the RSSU SDO is a practical task, for which you need to download the corresponding file. After completing the work, you will need to go back to the practical task and send it for checking to the teacher, who will assign a grade. If necessary, you can also write a message to the teacher or a covering note for the sent file.

Another type of class is a test that is taken directly in the system. The grade is assigned automatically immediately after completion of the task. It should be noted that testing can be run as many times as specified in the test properties. There you can also see the time allotted for completing the test. The final grade is determined by the maximum score obtained for any attempt.

The RSSU SDO assumes the presence of a cumulative point system. That is, for completing each lesson, the student (listener) is given a grade (and it can be assigned either automatically or by the teacher). The maximum total score for all classes is 100 points.

To monitor learning results in a particular discipline, you can refer to the “Learning Progress” section, available in the “Lesson Plan” tab.

The Learning Progress page displays a grading scale that turns blue as grades are assigned to show your progress in the course. The best result in this subject at the moment among all fellow students is shown here, and the maximum score set for each lesson is also indicated. In addition, you will be able to see the assigned grades for classes and the total points.

The LMS also allows you to get acquainted with the news that is available for each discipline. You can access the news in the “Services” section. Here you can familiarize yourself with the basic and additional materials on the discipline you are studying.
